You do not need to, though from the trailer some characters are introduced in Rebels, but I'm sure you'll catch on to them easily enough without the backstory. So, do you think I need to watch Clone Wars and the other animated SW shows? I still haven't sat down to watch them. It could be something I can watch in my home theater once it's done. . .
However.....
If you like Star Wars, and don't mind CGI Shows aimed partially at a young adult audience, it would be beneficial because the characters introduced in CW and Rebels have already made impacts in Bobafett and Mandalorian.
There is a reason that the internet was losing their collective shit at the thought of Sabine Wren being the imperial comms officer in Mando, and when Ahsoka showed up. Also when Cad Bane showed up in Boba.
Also, if you don't watch Clone Wars, or Rebels, you can't appreciate Hondo Ohnaka. He's like the Captain Jack Sparrow of Star Wars, with a little bit of the Dos Equis guy thrown in.
CW Season 1 is rough, you'll HATE Ahsoka, you are SUPPOSED to hate her. Dave Filoni specifically made her hateable, so she could grow as a character later.
Rebels, Season 1, I cannot stand the Chopper, Zeb, and Ezra dynamic, thankfully the stupid childish fights and antics fade quickly. Show quickly grows up with great character development.
