Took the opportunity while it was up on the trailer to power wash the underside this AM and get all the dirt and stuff off. Went to go unload it off the trailer and it was no crank no start. After 5 min google search I came up with the ignition switch being faulty. Had to turn to the start position and jiggle it. Drove it around. Holy shit, it’s perfect. Super tight steering, trans shifts great. Engine is silent. Braking is as it should. I forgot what it’s like to own one of these that doesn’t have 300,000+ miles on it.

My dad has been making great progress on it. I dropped it off by him Friday afternoon. He loves doing detail work and really minting stuff out. They’re going to need a second vehicle for a few months until their Bronco comes in, so he’s going to chip away at making this thing perfect cosmetically, I’ll be doing any mechanical stuff it needs. I gave him a general direction for how I want it to go, what to remove etc and let him do his thing. Everything he’s doing is all by hand. No steam cleaner, etc. The door jams and everything look like it just rolled off the showroom.

One of our horses is really sick so I’ve been pretty much stuck here since Friday late afternoon. Killing me that I can’t be there messing with it but it happens. Here’s some pictures he sent me of before and after progress in no particular order.

As far as parts list goes.

-I have three mint aluminum wheels with new tires, in process of tracking down a fourth.

-I have three rows of gray cloth seats in perfect shape with the folding bench jump seat/armrest

-I have a leather wrapped wheel with steering wheel audio controls which should allow me to access DIC through the cluster as well.

-Going to get the front windows tinted to 20%

-Since it’s a base trim truck with no factory BOSE to deal with, I’ll probably do all the door speakers, A-pillar tweeters, double din CarPlay head unit and a 12” sub in a sealed box.

Outside of that, no plans.

Drill holes and cavity wax the doors and rockers.

Woolwax the entire under chassis, brake parts, axles, hubs, entire underside of the body, fuel lines, etc.

Send it year round, pay for the under carriage washes during salt season.

I heard you should re apply every 1-2 on the wool wax. That'll give you an excuse to pressure wash it spotless yearly to keep it from rotting

I can't see any yellowing. but want kind of pad and polish or compound was used ? even a clear wax should remove discoloring.

i’ll get better pictures. It’s very noticeable to the naked eye.

I think Mcquires no 7. Once again, would have to look. I’ve had a million other things happening unfortunately so this has taken a back seat.

Thinking PTM door handles and mirrors. Like OE shit, not DIY over the textured black. Would love to track down a leather or coach built interior, though there weren’t many of those this late in the game.

Damn, that’s a good deal. Those are short wheelbase Yukon though, does the middle row bolt up the same?

I wonder if katzkin makes covers for those benches? Throw some aftermarket heated seats in and leave the rubber floor.

I want the arm rest or console mainly. And 100% leave the rubber floor. That’s my favorite part
