i didnt even think about this part today either

that test boat is bought by people financing it for a $223 payment for 20 years.

they aren't buying a $9,000 prop.

Im most impressed by the fact that bayliner has cut enough corners to sell a boat new for 20k though it probably comes with like a 50hp for that price

right, it's not like an average run about and some princess yacht will take the same prop.

and if that 80' boat is getting a set of these... what's it going to run? $80k?
just a regular bronze prop for a boat that big already runs 10-12k *did run that much like back in 2005 probably more now lol

they just add more blades to keep that over all size down but there still big ass mofo's and probably weigh around 200lbs for some of them, I think those ips volvo drives kind of cut down on the direct drive stuff i beleve those use smaller props too

thats crazy how cheap those boats are those 21 liberators i like run 60-70k depending on motor, like 105k with the new 450 merc on it

yeah i was thinking the other day it'd be sweet for someone to be making a 20-30k closed bow 18' something with a 115 merc on it... like there are plenty of fishing boats in that price.

price came down cuz now they are going to be cast.

It was announced today that the innovative Sharrow loop boat prop would now be cast from stainless steel, instead of from a single stainless-steel billet. First unveiled last September, and tested by BoatTEST, the props were all made one at a time by CNC 5-axis routers from solid billets of aluminum and stainless steel, costing $10,000. The stainless-steel billets – weighing nearly 500 lbs. (227.27 kg.) – cost over $2,600, according to Greg Sharrow. Sharrow is now taking $100 deposits on orders, the balance due when ready to ship, which will be in early 2021. More details in tomorrow’s BoatTEST newsletter.
