Slight thread revival since Mook posted with my old summer wheel setup. After years of bitching about cleaning black multispoke wheels on a car with pads that dust a ton, I picked up some 18x8.5 Konig Freeforms in radium bronze. Stuck with the Hankook Ventus Evo2’s but went up to a 235/40/18 from the 225’s I ran previously. Coated them with Gtechniq C5 wheel armor while new per Gav’s recommendation in the detailing thread, and I am really impressed with the ease of cleaning so far.

Other than these wheels and replacing the plastic rear endlinks with some steel moog replacements I got off rockauto the other day I think I’m about done with making changes to this car. It handles great and is fun to drive, but I just don’t feel like dropping the coin on an upgraded clutch to increase power when the DSG trans is so good and the MK8 R is coming out (probably) in the next few years.

Those wheels look great.

Kind of disappointing coming in and thinking they were for sale lol.. those would look great on my sportwagen.

Nah not for sale yet. I’m back down to 2 sets of wheels so I’m in a good place. Once I have a garage of my own I may go back up to three sets and have some snow tires.

Those look great! Much shinier than my Konig Hypergram Bronze.

Konig has perhaps the best weight/quality/value out there right now for wheels and some good looking designs too.

Agreed. I got these during Discount Tires Memorial Day sale at whatever percent off that was. Took a bit over a month for them to get them from their distributor.

Thanks fellas. It’s an 18x8.5 ET43. The 18x8.5 ET45’s that are now on Mook’s car are pretty close to flush and these 43’s are 2mm closer. They’re close enough to perfect that I don’t feel like buying tiny spacers and new lug bolts just to worry about the tire rubbing the wheel arches.
