Hello, I've read you have an issue with the way we have outlined the Coyote platform. We understand that our current documentation or presentation of the Coyote engine family may not be meeting your expectations or perhaps contains inaccuracies you've identified. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as accurate information is crucial. To best address your concerns, could you please elaborate on the specific aspects of our outline you find problematic? For example, are there factual errors regarding engine specifications like bore, stroke, or compression ratios? Are certain variants missing from our description, such as the differences between the Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 versions, or the specific applications in different Ford models such as the GT350, GT500 and such? The more detail you can provide, the better we can understand your feedback and take steps to correct any deficiencies in our Coyote platform outline. We value your input and are committed to ensuring our resources are accurate and comprehensive.

So you agree, Coyote should stick since LS stuck.

Thumb Up GIF by Carrefour France

Nope, didn't agree, because no part of his engine came from the "coyote" engine variant name. His engine is a variant of the Predator and Voodoo, calling it a Modular would be more appropriate, or modified Predator. GM guys would be having a full melt down if someone was claiming they had an "LS" when they have an LSX. It's a word game

Man, who would have thought these Ford guys would fight so hard to NOT have a record in their camp LOL

You don't get an LSX block in your Camaro SS, or Mast heads in a Vette, but they are still all an "LS" Just like this is a fuckin Coyote.

I hear you can pull a 6.0 iron block out from the bottom of a lake, strap a couple turbos on and run faster than this $158k "coyote". Dude that claims it would chime in but I think he rage quit :io:

Which are variants of the Coyote.........

Jersey Shore Mike GIF by Jersey Shore Family Vacation

No, they are variants of the Modular family. Coyote, Roadrunner, Voodoo, Predator are variants that use/have different engine parts. Clearly your not ordering a coyote engine and getting GT350 heads, or a Predator block, so saying Coyote is inaccurate to his build

Show me an example of someone NOT calling any variant of an LS an LS. I am talking LSX, LQ4, L33, LS1, billet block

When you use the term "LS," especially in the context of performance and modifications, it's usually understood to be a general reference to the GM small-block engine family that includes the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, LSX, and many other variations. It's a shorthand way of referring to that whole lineage.

The Predator is indeed based on the Coyote architecture. Here's what they share in the block:

  • Basic Block Architecture: Both the Coyote and Predator utilize an aluminum block with a 90-degree V-angle. This fundamental layout is the foundation for both engines.
  • Cylinder Layout and Dimensions: While the Predator has a larger bore (and therefore displacement) compared to the 5.0L Coyote, the basic cylinder layout and spacing are shared.
  • Oil Squirters: Both blocks feature oil squirters to help cool the pistons, a performance-oriented feature.
  • Main Webbing and Strength: The Predator block has beefier main webbing and added material in key areas compared to the standard Coyote block. This is to handle the increased stress from the supercharger. However, the fundamental design and reinforcement philosophy is shared.
  • Manufacturing Process: Both blocks are produced using similar casting processes, though the Predator likely undergoes more stringent quality control and potentially different finishing processes due to its higher performance demands.
Key Difference in the Block:

  • Deck Design: The most significant difference in the block itself is the deck design. The Predator features a more closed-deck design compared to the open-deck design of the standard Coyote. This provides increased rigidity and strength to handle the higher cylinder pressures from the supercharger.
In essence, the Predator block can be seen as a heavily reinforced and modified version of the Coyote block, sharing the same basic architecture but with key enhancements to handle the significant power increase.

OH shit, so the parts from coyote, predator, voodoo dont interchange?! Like you cant take the heads from one and put them on the other? No swapping water pumps? What about the oil pan? I never knew they were so different.

They do, which is my point. Saying coyote is a blanket label many are using, which is deceiving to what his actual engine is. They should be calling his engine a Modualar, or Predator, which is more accurate. The reason his car is so fast is because he is using a Predator block, a coyote block wouldn't be able to do it.

As someone with an LSX, I have never heard of such BS. Hell I have never actually even had an "LS" and yet I have had a lot of LS's :D

And they share the same architecture as 2001 Cobra 4.6 engine, aluminum block, aluminum dohc heads, same bell housing pattern, rods, and even crank can be used.... It's the variant that is the important part here. NO Coyote block would get him to his record, so he had to use a Predator block, which is part of the Ford Modular family. So again, his engine is more Predator based then Coyote. What in his motor comes from an off the lot Mustang GT or F150 with a Coyote engine variant, not a single thing.

Yeah, because it's too difficult to sit there and label them appropriately, when majority of people call it a coyote. You think someone that owns a GT500 is saying they have Coyote under the hood, or a GT350 owner? fuck no, they would look at you like your retarded, because they have very unique engine variants in them.

Is this because you have a GT350?

I have an LSX, if someone asks I just say its an LS. If someone called it an LS, I wouldn't give a single fuck.

So when GM guys stroke themselves off for the "FASTEST LS" we should be ripping them a new one for not distinguishing between LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, LSX, Billet block, etc.

Not at all. What i'm saying is that no owner of a GT500 is gonna say they have a Coyote under the hood, likewise, no GT350 owner would. There's reason for that, cause the Coyotes, are very different engines, different variants from the Modular family, I should of said previsously, the term LS is more like Fords term Modular. The numbers or letters around that designate what it came from. Someone claiming to have a LS1 record would be ridiculed if they were actually using a LSX. No different then people claiming Coyote record, but using a Predator block.

The Ford Coyote and Predator are both V8 engines from Ford Motor Company. The Coyote is a naturally aspirated engine, while the Predator is supercharged. The Predator is based on the Coyote, but is more powerful and specialized for high performance.

That's according to google "Coyote vs Predator engine". Yeah, WAY different, like LS1 vs LS9 or something! You better not tell a ZR1 owner they have an LS.
