My buddy has an 88 GT vert, he's looking to do a solid 300whp setup. Can you give me some good setup recommendations? ;)

Does it have a motor right now?

You can get 300WHP out of any aftermarket head on a stock bottom end with basic bolt-ons (Intake/Headers/Exhaust) and a mild cam.

H/C/I will get you 300. I like Trick Flow, but any brand will get you that.

Yea, the motor is in and runs good but he wants a bit more from it.

I figured a h/c/i setup would do it but was just wondering what would be a perfect combo ;) i could look but i figured i'd ask the :ford: :swingin: guys

I know trick flow was a good all around option.

Guess:

Heads $1,200
Cam $300
Upper/Lower Intake $500
Supporting Mods $1,000

Total around $3,000

The Trick Flow top end kit (H/C/I with gaskets, bolts even fancy valve covers) is just under $2700 brand new from summit. That'll get over 300 hp.

That was just a guess, i see they are more like $1500. Still less than $2700 and with the left over money to mod you will be making 400hp. amirite?

What a stock LS1 go for, $700? Seems like a no brainer.
even a 5.3 that you can get running for less than 800 make more than 300hp.
for less than $3000 you can have a kick ass ls setup in a fox.

There is absolutely no fab work that goes into putting an LSx motor into a fox. It just drops right in no problem.

all i have is builders. nothing ready to go.

in a fox... you can even use your existing ford long tubes, hack that flanges off and weld on ls1 flanges... the primary spacing is the same.
