never pay retail proce on a mattress at a mattress store, always negate and get at least 30% off
I have a king size one of these at my house:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0050JL4TC/?tag=tcg21-20
that i got new like 4 years ago or whatever. i love it. got the firmest one they had, and i sometimes now wish it was more firm, but i could sleep on hardwood comfortably.
Mattress markup is INSANE, something in the area of 300% pending on the brand and retailers, it could be more.
I bought a "cheap" mattress like $1000 and it was a big piece of shit. upgraded to one that was about $1400 and again a piece of shit. Never again will I buy a cheap mattress.
Bought a sleep number and never looking back. Worth every damn penny!
I sleep on a Temperpedic (sp?) and its fine for me, although its probably up for replacement in a couple years if I'm following the schedule. Either way, I agree, a good mattress is worth its weight in gold!
This mattress is for my son, who has been sleeping on a couch in the basement for years (at his own choice). So yeah, pretty much anything will be better than the couch he's on now.
I love memory foam mattresses like the Tempurpedics. Only downside is they suck for fucking
What about for someone who just beats off sometimes during the week?
I ended up making a purchase from Sams. Prices were pretty damn reasonable and my son was aching for a bed (he's chosen to sleep on a couch in the basement for the last few years).
