Well I cant keep this a secret any longer. I need to replace my motor. My bearings failed. Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement motor and found a 3.8 motor ( L26 top swop ) from a 2008 Buick Lucern. Will this fit in my 2001 GTP? I just need to know if the 3.8 will fit because I'm not sure because I seen it says Buick Lucern.

Thanks guys

I'm having trouble. All the L67 I have found have 130k+ miles on them. The L26 I found has 59K and a year warranty. ZZP said they can install a L26 for me if I get one. I just didn't know anything about these motors and needed to make sure it would fit since it said Lucern.

Plus I think ( key word think ) it would be better technology then my 2001.

I'm doing cnc heads on my friends car his goal is 350whp on pump gas, depends on what your goal is but it would pick up 20-30hp with heads, in my opinion modding a supercharged car is not cost effective at all, with a turbo set up you want 30 extra hp you give the knob a turn and your right there

Im pretty much going to stick with the charger set up. Do you think it would blow a rod if I do the heads??

It seems that everyone that is blowing l26's up, are running asinine amounts of timing on e85. It usually doesn't work well on our cars.

Also, keep in mind that if you go with a l26, you will either need to turn the boost down or get more mods to keep knock down from the higher compression.
