On my way to work friday I get a 3 to 1 downshift and on the 1-2 shift my trans is slipping and when it finally gets second gear, it hits hard. Turn off performance shift, same thing, loaded stock trans file to the pcm, same thing. I checked the fuild and it was full but when I wiped the dipstick on a paper town it left a black streak of clutch material. So I am considering my options of getting a morad trans, zzp, or maybe dynotech, or a local trans shop. I need some input here on what to get and from who. My car is high 12's, I drive it daily, larger rotors, 18" wheels, lowered, and i am not easy with the gas either. I know morad it the cheapest, but i plan on keeping the car or a long time and do not want another trans failure.

Id get higher gearing and a higher tq convertor. I love how fast the car shifts with it.

I got and FULL intense trans about 2 years ago and 24k miles ago.....Performed great for the first 700 miles........then I found out Scott didnt replace the bands in a $4,000 dollar rebuild.

SInce then its been great!!!!!!!!!

Oh wait, then there was the Gen 2 lsd revision......

Since then its worked great!!!!!!! B)

So you'd recommend a complete INTENSE transmission rebuild with the Gen 3 LSD?

my trans is definantly on its way as well. if you plan on running 12's on a reliable DD i would def. go with hard parts, is/ps, basically go to zzp's website, and get every option, including free install :)

get everything bob said plus get some good axles while you are there so you can scratch them off your 'weak link' list

I talked to dynotech zzp and a local shop today and i will say that I was most impressed with the dynotech trans. It seem like basically i was going to get the most for my money from them and the guy i talked to anwsered every question i had for them. the guy i talked to at zzp, not zoom, basicaly told me to call certified, and certified told me to call zoom, so I felt like I was getting the run around. When i get $3,000 saved up I will be getting the 2500 stall converter, 300M input shaft, 15/16 drive chain with 3.29 gears along with the very long list of standard rebuild stuff they install, and a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.
