There are plenty of people that say the marine injectors don’t do shit for power because the IP can’t outflow the stock injectors. You’d have to do so much shit to make any hp that I don’t see the benefit over just what’s happening here. Only thing maybe worthwhile is head gaskets and studs and that’s just basic maintenance on a 30+ year old vehicle known for head gasket failures.

this guy knows stuff :trump:

Was able to get her started as well. So she’s a runner at this point and just have some things to do to make it driveable. Should be all buttoned up by the end of the week.

Well cucv started making some noises and they sounded like a cracked flywheel. So I pulled the trans today and did find a cracked flywheel, but I also found my trans case is fucked... so that’s awesome and not really sure if I should just find a case or do something else. Money sucks right now until I sell the white blazer, so might be on a back burner till I find a decent deal.

So after lots of thought and cost comparisons I decided to 4L80E swap this bitch. Thanks to daturbosix I picked one up for a great price.

After getting it homing and pulling the pan I decided to just take the gamble and put it in without rebuilding and see if I get lucky. The only thing it will cost me is time.

I picked up a torque converter from advances Labor Day 25% off sale and a flexplate.

The old flexplate is what I thought was the initial issue and well is was an issue just not thee issue

Luckily the truck is tall enough to just roll the trans under it on the jack

So I got the trans in place and tried fitting the transfer case up but the trans to transfer case adapter is slightly off so I’ll have to do some “massaging” to make them all play together nice. Looks like I’ll have to pretty much just lengthen the shift linkage and shorten the drive shaft a tad. I’ll update this with all the little things that it will take to complete the swap.

So got some more things done. It fought me for a little but things are starting to go smooth for now.

So to get the linkage to work I had to swap the gear selector from the 4l80e to the turbo400 one. While taking the one off the 4l80e the selector rod snapped.

That’s the 400 one, so then while taking the rod out of the 4l80e the “nail” that holds the rod on snapped flush with the case.

After a lot of patience and a dremel I finally got it out and got the 400 one put in. So the pan is back on and all buttoned up. While I was in there I changed the wiring harness even though it turned out to be the same.

Then I moved on to putting the wiring in. I got the tci controller, it has great reviews and seems pretty straight forward. The drivers side it pretty empty so I decided to mount it all over there.

I also got there tps kit. There is a place to hook it on the throttle just no bracket to mount it. I had one from a carb laying around so I took that and some straight bar to make my own. It turned out to work pretty well. It mounts to one of the intake bolts and actually goes under the intake so you don’t even notice it’s there.

So I have a few things left.
-I need to find a 4l80e dipstick and tube.
-Still have to bolt the torque converter to flywheel.
-Have to lengthen the shift rod.
-Get the driveshaft shortened.
-Finish button up the wiring, trying to decide if I should get a trigger for the rpm lead. Says you can use the tps, but trigger sounds more accurate.
-Have to figure out how and where to mount the dash controller
-I need to run new lines for the cooler. The existing ones will bolt up, but I’d have to stretch the lines the make them work.

So I’ll probably just get an auxiliary cooler and run new lines.

That’s about all I got done yesterday, so moving along nicely.
