🔧 BUILD My MKIV Supra build-ish thread...big boy 3.4L motor time

General Information

Most of you that have access to FB have probably already seen this but I did part ways with my Turbo TA yesterday. I've owned that car for over 10 years and took it from completely stock to a monster that is easy to drive and fun to thrash. I will miss that car but where I am in my life is I'd like to slow it down a bit and just have some cruisers and the TA deserves better than what I'm will to do with it. I think it's got everything to be competitive in the right hands. The new owner is a good friend of mine and lives less than a mile away from me so we will be seeing each others cars often that's for sure so it's not gone gone. This was not an easy decision but a combination of right place, right time, right person and right price as I had to come up with some cash on the difference. I would never sell this car normally as I don't think I could trust someone to not hurt themselves in it, but the new owner is more than capable of handling it and I'll be able to still see it perform at the track albeit from the sidelines and not in the drivers seat.

Edit: I'm going to turn this into a mini build thread and document some progress

Haven't updated in a while because, well, the car has been down and for a while. I'm waiting on some pro level axles from Driveshaft Shop which were shipped last week only to be lost by UPS in Indianapolis somewhere so if someone finds a bangin deal on marketplace for some 8.8 supra axles, your welcome. Hopefully I'll get my replacement set before the winter starts setting in so I can make sure everything is GTG.

I have been talking with one of the Supra shops down here in Houston about doing a forged motor setup. The owner of the shop has a 3.4l stroker motor that was to be used on another car but has come up for sale so I’ll be buying that along with a turbo kit and some fuel system upgrades to make make some good whp out of the setup.

Accelerated Performance 3.4L forged stroker longblock and accessories
Autobahn Motorsports built gte non vvti race head
Titan 280 cams
Precision Turbo 7675 Sportsman Gen2 gt42 style BB turbo.
Vband Tubular Manifold with 4” down and mid pipe

This is a photo of the motor in the car it was originally being built for. I’m going to change some things up to make this more a street motor and not a racecar thing. Single bank of injectors and ditch the mechanical fuel pump for a 3rd walboro 450.

Since this motor is already together we’re hoping that the project won’t take long to install. Famous last words but once Jimmy has all of the parts I’ll drop off my car and hope to have it installed, tuned, and back to me in 3-4 weeks. Deposit sent for the motor so will update when parts come in and I’m ready to drop the car off.

Nice, looking for that 1000ish whp range?
We are shooting for 1150-1200whp on full boost. Hopefully around 40ish psi
Will, any chance the shop or you can do a thorough build thread or how to or something? I'm so excited.
Well try but with me starting the new job in a few weeks I’m likely not going to be too involved with the car. Just dropping it off and letting them piece it together but as things progress I’ll add pics/vids and updates
This is exactly what this car needed after that manual swap you did. Ever since I saw this car at a Luke’s meet when it was Mook’s, it has been one of my favorite Supras. You going to be in TX2K highway videos from now on?
Thanks man and yeah this cars come a long way. The final thing really is adding more power and it will be complete for what I want out of it. Can’t do too much with tx2k. People are still getting arrested after the fact from YouTube videos. So I’ll be more discreet.
