Toyota My MKIV Supra build-ish thread...big boy 3.4L motor time

General Information

Most of you that have access to FB have probably already seen this but I did part ways with my Turbo TA yesterday. I've owned that car for over 10 years and took it from completely stock to a monster that is easy to drive and fun to thrash. I will miss that car but where I am in my life is I'd like to slow it down a bit and just have some cruisers and the TA deserves better than what I'm will to do with it. I think it's got everything to be competitive in the right hands. The new owner is a good friend of mine and lives less than a mile away from me so we will be seeing each others cars often that's for sure so it's not gone gone. This was not an easy decision but a combination of right place, right time, right person and right price as I had to come up with some cash on the difference. I would never sell this car normally as I don't think I could trust someone to not hurt themselves in it, but the new owner is more than capable of handling it and I'll be able to still see it perform at the track albeit from the sidelines and not in the drivers seat.

Edit: I'm going to turn this into a mini build thread and document some progress

Iā€™m really happy with this car. It handles so well and isnā€™t as ā€˜racecarā€™-ish as I thought it was going to be. I was worried it would be and as a result I wouldnā€™t want to drive it as much but itā€™s proving to be a very comfortable modern feeling car which is what I always wanted for it.

I took my car to a local detailer here in Texas that wanted to use it for promotional purposes for their business. Pics came out great. May be a rehash of some of the pics Mook Mook already posted but enjoy

Thanks man, outside of minor cosmetic things there is not much for me to improve on the car. Had a discussion with a guy the other day that has large collection and he offered to buy my car, just name a price. Couldnā€™t do it. If I sold it Iā€™d just be replacing it with another Supra that is setup identical. I guess Iā€™m just really happy with where itā€™s at. I canā€™t really see myself selling it for something different. Iā€™d rather sell the gtr not even having it yet than the Supra.

Just a few cosmetic changes. Bought a coil cover and clear front timing gear cover. Waiting on the middle plastic piece to close it up. Also had a carbon fiber cooling panel made to clean up the front a bit more. Had an sp racing chrome panel that always just looked out of place. Iā€™ll probably ditch the strut tower bar.
