Just don't like hearing it. Especially in detail. It was just a bit much.

I've been a bit more sensitive toward what fucked up shit people do to their kids since having my own. I can't imagine how someone could do something like that to their own kids.

I get that it happens but I'm going to keep living in my own little bubble over here pretending it doesn't.

Same with me, if its the episode I think youre talking about, I was literally falling asleep because the entire 35+ minutes is him sitting at a table with the lawyer. I was like holy fuck this is exhausting and I am falling asleep....

Wife said "Lets try the next episode and see if we can stay awake" and made it through the 1 hour episode no problem, it was literally just that episode that was so fucking boring.

Javier Bardiem and Chloe Sevigny (sp? for both) are really good in it IMO.

Ep 3 is definitely...........a bit tough.

I honestly don't remember many of the details of this whole thing as it unfolded when I was a kid. So, like FWP said, if what they described is true...............fucking hell.

Only thing I've ever turned off was that one movie, last house on the left I think it was, where they literally showed the girl getting raped for like 3 minutes... Like we get it...

I've heard somewhat what they describe in here and I'm kinda meh, have yet to watch it yet...

100% we've listened to way worse podcasts though.

ok episode 5 was the most disturbing. All 36 minutes of just Erik talking. About all of it. Jesus we fucking get it!!

I will say the way this episode was shot really enhanced the fucked-up-edness of this episode

One continuous shot the whole episode, one single camera angle, just slooooowwwwwllllyyyy zooming in on Eric the entire episode, almost imperceptibly. No music at all. Just him talking. That really was shot quite brilliantly

Gonna watch episode 6 and then I think im done for tonight this shit is too much

I will say tho Javier Bardem is absolutely great in this at playing an absolute piece of human shit. This whole family never stood a chance. Everyone is exactly where they need to be right now.

And finished. god damn. While this shit probably coulda been at least 2 episodes shorter than it was, still a very good, FUCKED UP, series. I need to watch some actual documentary shit on this.

And I just wanna say Nathan Lane killed it as he usually does as well.
