Really, they're all pretty solid.
2016 they did some revisions that improved improved them. That's why I went with what I did.

I was eying a 2014. Low 20s doesn't seem unreasonable given the potential and reliability

You can, and it's not a horrible idea to. But you're direct injected, so it won't do anything in regards to any carbon on the valves.

I had my valves cleaned and I'm running a second set of injectors that blasts the valves. Ain't no thing for me no mo.

You can get 14-15's for low-mid 20's with decent miles. I wanted the facelift and improvements of the C7.5 so I shopped for a 16+ but either are just about as potent and durable.
