Put the truck to work today. Towed the camper up to Cornucopia WI and spending some time in the Apostle Islands

bro one pic come on

I'll take a few more when I hook it back up Friday. Here's a few of Madeline Island

Experience towing the trailer was OK. Lots of gear hunting with the hills. Anything bigger than this a full size would be ideal but I'm not a towing expert by any means. Really not sure how people are towing ~4000-4500lbs comfortably with the Tacoma. You feel the weight back there for sure.

Took the truck through the Chequamegon National Forest. Was tons of fun. Got downpoured on and I chickened out so called it a day. Don't have anything with me to deal with mud. Did about 80 miles and the most northern section of the TWAT.

Bought the premium subscription to Gaia maps that has the motor vehicle overlays from the forestry service. Fantastic app would recommend for any offroading

Nice job...

I wouldn't mind doing some light off-roading with my Silverado, it has the tires that should do it fairly well. Just could use some input/suggestions on where to go. Doesn't even need to be an overnight trip. Though I could throw my ATV in the back and take that even further off the roads.

Honestly start with the forest roads. Most are maintained semi regularly and the maps are easy to find. There's some stuff in Langlaw County WI as well. If you don't want to worry about bumper clearance stick to the National Forests.

Had some window tint done at Chicago Auto Pros in Glenview. They did a phenomenal job on the install. By far the best tint work I've had done. Cuts are crisp. No bubbling or peeling on the dot matrix sections in the windshield. Very very happy. Already noticeably cooler in the vehicle when parked in the sun and even while driving.

Went with Llumar 70% Stratos on the windshield and Llumar Pinnacle 35% on the fronts. 20% would better match the rear but I didn't want to deal with any issues. I had nothing but problems with 20% on my GTI

Nothing major to report. Ordered myself a hidden lightbar kit for Christmas. Hopefully it will motivate me to finish the rest of the wiring up in the bed and under the hood.

Also, going to need some tires in the spring so debating if I do a 2-2.5" lift and wheels and tires at the same time. Undecided.

Even though every Tacoma owner and their brother has them, I love the TRD Pro 4 Runner wheels. Most go black but I like the gray. Would use these wheels lift or no lift.

Check Custom Offsets website for ideas on wheels and lifts they sell both. I’m ordering a Sierra after the first of the year and the dealership will install a 6” lift and wheel/tire of my choice too. I’m hoping they have an AT4 on the lot and can upfit it or even a Denali. There aren’t many with the Diesel on the lots yet equipped the way I want it.

Ordered my wheels today. Went with the new for 17" 2020 TRD 4Runner Pro Gloss Gunmetal with dark TRD lettering on the center caps. Planning on wrapping with Falken Wildpeak 265/70/17 AT3W.

Pic for reference. Going to do black lugs.

Weather is getting nicer so light bar and wiring I'll get working on soon. Everything is finally settled at the house and I have some usable garage space. Hoping to get out to Silver Lake dunes in May for my birthday.

After about a year of dragging my feet I finally finished the power panel in the bed. Thanks to @02BlueGT for hanging out and helping. 2 x Quick charge USB 1 x 12v socket and 2 x Anderson Power pole connectors. Switch will be for the under bed cover lights that I'll start working on soon.

Light bar was installed and wired up as well. Forgot to take pics of that.

Next project is re-sealing the roll up bed cover. Starting to leak bad. I'm going to try replacing the weatherstrip, of that doesn't work probably look into a trifold BakFlip cover.
