Fuck yeah, bring it on. I love these movies. IMO they get better as they go.
100%, rogue nation and fallout were fucking awesome. These movies are so good that even paula patton's god-awful acting couldn't bring down ghost protocol.

I'm jacked, literally can not believe tom cruise is almost 60 and still killing it in action movies.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One may very well be the summer blockbuster. While other high-profile films populate a packed calendar, the action epic is a cut above the rest. That it comes out in the same month as Barbie and Oppenheimer, the 2023 Box Office Battle Royale, proves just how confident Cruise and Paramount are in the picture, and they should be. McQuarrie's camera vacillates between jittery anxiety and sweeping elegance. The cast, including returnees Ferguson, Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Vanessa Kirby are all integral to the story in a way that adds to the sense of finality that is to come full circle next year. In a summer with too many offerings to choose from (as evidenced by the lackluster returns some movies are seeing), there may be a clear frontrunner already, and we should all be thankful to Ethan Hunt for running ahead of the pack.

Mission: Impossible, on the other hand, is a rock concert. Try spoiling one of those. You can tell an audience in advance exactly what the band they’re watching is going to sing, and it doesn’t really matter. Tom Cruise is the Eddie Van Halen of jumping out of airplanes. Everyone comes to these movies knowing all the words — we’re just here to sing ’em real fuckin’ loud.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One isn’t the best Mission Impossible movie yet, but it’s one of the better ones. It’s a film that will please fans of the franchise, fans of action movies in general, and will sell even more tickets next year when the final piece comes out. It opens July 12.

27 (!) years and seven films in, this saga — like its star — looks set to run and run, barely stopping for breath. Cruise will keep going until he’s just physically too old to do it anymore. Which by his standards is probably around 110. Good. Keep ‘em coming.

However, it’s Cruise and McQuarrie’s fault for establishing such a high precedent with their overwhelmingly fantastic collaborations of the past few years. Given that their last two collaborations were Mission: Impossible — Fallout and Top Gun: Maverick, the fact that this movie is worthy to stand on the shoulders of those two action titans is an accomplishment on its own. Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One is yet another “part one” in a summer that has already had a few with Fast X and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. But this movie feels very complete while setting up what’s yet to come. And anyone who sees this movie will surely be seated for anything else that the incredibly talented Cruise can muster up.

This was utterly fanfuckingtastic. It's been awhile since I've been on edge watching a movie and this one did it for sure. At 2hr45min there was never a dull moment.

Haley Atwell is amazing in this (and absolutely gorgeous)

Rebecca Ferguson, still fantastic,
right up until her departure

The whole plot in general makes you think, how long until something like this happens for real?

Definitely one of the top MI's IMO
