I bought one of the surge impacts a year ago. It's so quiet that I don't even realize it's an impact while using it. But it's definitely not for heavy use.

It's rated at like 400in/lb vs 2000 or so on the standard fuel. They caim the way the hydraulic fluid works each hit holds the power longer and it's just as good.. but it is noticable that it doesn't have the power of the standard one.

The m12 screwdriver is hands down one of the most versatile tools for a homeowner. It can put together Ikea furniture, and if you really want to screw in some 3 inchers (giggity) go for it, but it'll be slow.

Then again, I'm a milwaukee nut swinger...

That lil guy. For M12 I have the 1/4 impact, FUEL drill, non-fuel drill and the screwdriver and more often than not, i just grab the screw driver 'cause the quick change bit, it's light and it does 80% of what I need to do.

I screwed up and got the fuel screwdriver. It's too powerful for a lot of tasks even turned all the way down. If I were to do it again I'd absolutely get the non fuel version

I have the 2401-20 and its awesome for just about everything.

Milwaukee made three electric M12 screwdrivers:

2401-20: single speed; first screwdriver model released; lightest model; 175lbs of torque; least powerful screwdriver used for very precise work. Many complained that this screwdriver provided too little torque; this model goes on sale a lot

2402-20: 2-speed gearbox brushless (fuel version); heaviest model; 325lbs of torque which many indicated was "too much tool" to be used as a screwdriver

2406-20: 2-speed gearbox; 275lbs of torque; last model released; this model rarely goes on sale; is considered a good hybrid between the precision of 2401 and the power of 2402. From what I've read most consider this the preferred M12 screwdriver to get.
