🔧 BUILD Matt’s - 2011 - ZR1 - MODS & UPGRADES

General Information

I decided to start a thread detailing some of the mods and upgrades that are being done to the car.

Just got the heads back from being worked by Brenton at IronMask Airflow out of Roanoke, LA.

I don’t normally rave about guys that port heads and superchargers, but when I do it’s because they are a God damn artist. He ports everything by hand and whatever he touches make power.

I’m super excited about getting all this put together and seeing what the car does. But, until then I figured I would at least share some info and pics as things progress.

Here’s what Brenton has done to the heads:

Max Effort LS9 Cylinder Heads:
-Disassembly/Cleaning/Inspection
-Replace valve guides with CHE Bronze & size to proper clearance
-Competition valve job
-Ferrea 1892P exhaust valves
-TSP/PAC Dual Spring kit with Ti Retainers
-Recondition customers supplied intake valves(If in good condition)
-Max Effort Porting
-Milling .020"
-Assembly of cylinder heads

I also had Brenton install the CHE Trunnion Upgrade on the rockers. Better safe than sorry.

Once the supercharger is finished and gets back I will take some pics and update the thread.

Just got the supercharger pics and I am pretty speechless and those that know me would confirm that doesn’t happen very often.

I am now a full blown member of the Ironmask Airflow nut swinger club!! Brenton has knocked it out of the park with this one. Absolutely can’t wait to see what this thing does once it’s all put together and tuned. But for now……how about some eye candy??

Max Effort LS9 Supercharger & Snout porting
-Disassembly/cleaning/inspection
-Max Effort Porting
-LPE Solid Isolator
-Full Snout & Rotor Housing Rebuild with fresh bearings & oil

Nice, any expectations on #'s both on 93 and corn?
We are expecting around 800 on 93 and close to 900 on E85.

Should be a lot of fun for sure. The fact these cars make so much power and can handle it still cracks me up. As much as I love the idea of a bunch of HP, it is equally important to me to have as close to oem drivability as possible. Paul over at Martin Chevy in Crystal Lake spends so much time driving it and making it perfect. In my opinion, he truly is the best.

Shit man, I didn’t know you were on here. That’s awesome!! If I would have known you wanted to play a bit, I would have much rather done that on that stretch of Rakow Rd. versus on 14 there. A couple years ago, in that same stretch, I got the riot act from a Cary cop after messing around with an SRT Jeep. Luckily he was cool and just said slow it down which I obviously have not done. LMAO.

Your car looks and sounds fantastic!!
