First off, I now understand why turbo systems cost so much. I give a ton of credit to the guys who make artwork out of pipes....shit aint easy.

It took me about 10-12 hours just to accomplish what you will see in the following pictures. Anyone thinking about doing a DIY turbo in your Marauder, I strongly suggest you to reconsider!

I started with Cobra Manifolds because they are cheap and tubular headers just aint happening, as least with m skill level.
I also had the mid pipes from a Bassani exhause so there were the appropriate flanges right off the bat.

Here we go!

Drivers side pipe:

Partial crossover done: (the bung is gonna get removed)

The crossover is 2.5" and transitions into 3" I bought a fancy ball/socket adaper seen in the pic above. This was so the crossover could be removed, and the first section of 3" pipe could be removed if the AC compressor needs to come out.

Here is the 3" pipe coming through to the engine bay. Surprisingly there is just enough room here to wrap the pipe and clear everything. The pipe will make a 90 degree turn here and have a v band clamp so it can be removed.

The passenger side hookup was so friggin hard for me I almost scrapped the entire project. Luckily I kept my cool and figured it out:

Completed crossover:

Its not super stealth and tucked away well, but it is what it is....I have no choice with this car. Its the best its gonna get.

And there you have it, a Turbo Marauder in the making. Gonna order the rest of the piping, clamps, etc this week.

Found some time to get the turbo bracket built. As you will see I used factory holes, and basic angle iron.
It rude, crude and cheap but its rock solid. (I added more metal supports to the bracket, not seen in the pics)

I will try the 3.5" downpipe, I think it is doable.
Where the downpipe starts right now will conflict with the ABS connector, but the ABS bracket can be modified to lower everything 1/2"... Score!

Ill make the pipes to connect the flange to the crossover pipe tomorrow.
So much awesomeness :jg:

The pipe on the passenger side sits really close to the AC compressor....after looking at it for a while, I realized there is about 1/4" of material that can be removed from the AC compressor to bring it closer to the block. What luck!

I have to order 3.5" piping now, thats not cheap. LOL

I must be a lucky SOB. I built all this by eye and after installing the Sway bar and PS pump, everything clears. Amazing!

There will definitely be some drivers side wheel liner modification in order, but the downpipe comes no where near the tire.
Its like all this shit was made to go where I installed it. :D

Not too much to report, but progress is progress.

The downpipe is huge and fairly heavy so I made this ghetto bracket to support it. (I cut a coupling nut in half then tacked it to the pipe):

Here is where the O2 sensor ended up:

100_3774.jpg

Making brackets for the intercooler sure is easy with the front end missing. Again, ghetto but works great:

I have to order the pipes to mate the downpipe to the X pipe. As well as IC piping, clamps collars etc....
Here is where its gonna start adding up with last minute stuff.

So no LS now? You should take the time to make a couple more sets to fund this.

Wish I had the extra scratch right about now as you are giving me yet another not in a gay way boner. Fabbing pipes is like fine art.

No time for that to meet the Kentucky trip deadline.
At this point I still dont know if its possible.....running out of money!

Gonna order a whole lot of stuff Friday.
Race Parts Soulutions is having a Black Friday Sale and apparently its gonna be a good one.
Im doing everything my power to avoid selling my Eaton Swap to pay for this.
The paint job may have to wait. ughh

Sell the Eaton swap bubs. It's just going to take up space and collect dust and collect $$$$. Unless you have plans on putting it on your other black MM.
