So some lonely modularfords.com member had some cabin fever being stuck in the upper peninsula all winter and managed to come up with a way to adapt the GT500 Eaton M122 to the 03-04 Cobra. It uses the case, plenum and rotors of a M122, the snout of a M112 and a custom milled adapter plate to mount to the lower intake as well as a few other odds and ends.

I believe he thinks he can sell the conversion kit for $500-600, and when adding the M122 and the other odds and ends it comes to around $1000-1200

Aside from being able to put the GT500 Eaton atop your Cobra, the plate allows you to use the GT500 TVS, 2.9/4.0L Whipple, 2.8/3.6/4.2LC KB's as long as you get a longer snout....quite the options

Anyways, here are the pictures and numbers...

First I am going to list all the mods to the car that matter.

VMP 100mm slot MAF
Dragon TB
BF 2.76" upper only
ported lower intake
BBK LT headers
off road X pipe
Spin Tech catback
60 lb injectors
BAP
AFCO dual pass intercooler

Test done on a Dynojet 424 at about 60* with NO ice or any cooling except fans.

All runs are SAE.

First test 19.5* timing seeing 16 lbs of boost (yes my stock gauge was off that much).

538 rwhp 493 rwtq

Second test 21.5* a little more boost (must have cooled down). When looking at the graph it says 556 but that was a fluke at the top.

~545 rwhp 505 rwtq

The third test was at 23*.

549.43 rwhp 511.91 rwtq

We decided to stop there since it was seeing so much more boost than I expected and it wasn't falling off like a M112 would.

I will follow up with a post with datalogs and graphs.

Not worth that money for 40 horse more though...

What 40 more horse are you comparing to? Last time I checked a non ported 2.76 upper only car usually puts down 460~rwhp... add a port and then you are talking 500~rwhp. This is a non ported upper only combo. Add a 4lb lower and a Port (which he is doing next) and this thing is going to put down some serious numbers

I'll take a twin-screw and call it a day.

Was comparing it to my current #'s........ But with a port and pulley your right it would be sweet... I would go twin screw first though I think..

613 rwhp 592 rwtq

This is SAE on a dynojet.
I had Sunco 110 racegas and added 2 degrees timing for around 22 total. Also it was cool and well iced down. On this run my coolant tank spit some coolant on the belt and it slipped. It might have been a little higher but not that much.

After a little ice in the intercooler and a 5-10 minute cool down (left the car running with fan on it).

608 rwhp 590 rwtq

It just doesn't look over spun either. I bet someone with ambition could try a 6# lower.

Apparently hes seeing 19-20psi max (with a 2.76 upper and 4lb lower) with it dropping to 17-18psi up top.

LOLOL this is nuts. Its looks to be more efficient on the 03/04 then on the GT500...LOL Nice conversion. I understand that a TS blower would be a better choice, but this guy seems to be the kind of person that did it just to see if he could and what it would do. Im like that too. But with electronics. I get it, but yes just getting a whipple 2.3 or KB would be the easiest way. Cool nontheless.
