Lowering and wrapping DD. Bad idea?

Id think as long as the car is really cleaned and prepped well the wrap would hold up nicely and shouldn’t cause an issue taking it off after a few winters.

Why not just look for a good set of coil overs? You can raise the car up a bit in the winter to give more ground clearance.

Yup. That’s the goal. Powdercoat the stock wheels gloss black, or maybe anthracite, lower, purple wrap, black out any remaining chrome including exhaust tips, front splitter, trunk lid spoiler, tune, done.

You have to get some nice forged concave wheels to make the look right

Not sure on budget, IND Distribution in lake zurich has some nice BMW accessories. I also believe you can custom design a spoiler with the staff and they make it for you.

I’ve used them for things before. For my e92 M3 they did an awesome paint job on my carbon fiber trunk lid.

Gloss black wheels = mucho scratches. No matter how careful you are cleaning them.

This times 10000%. I have had a lot of black rims and no matter what they ALWAYS get scratches.

What do you recommend?

if you are going to Crown customs, they have their house blend " hyper" black in 3-4 variations of darkness. If you wanted to go with something that was charcoal or gunmetal metallic.

Matte black looks okay, but they can not be "fixed" only redone. I would go with satin before matte.
