Quality of Lou’s overall has gone downhill. Only time we get it is if they have a coupons out. Georgio’s in Crystal Lake (original spot) and South Barrington Arboretum has really good deep dish. There are also (2) local spots to by me that do a legit deep dish pizza. Piasano’s in Elburn and Joseph’s in Wasco.
I think it does depend on which location at this point. My normal spot, the Elk Grove, location is still pretty good......the Prospect Heights (delivery only) place is definitely subpar.

Yesterday I stopped a Lou's to pick up a fresh pizza and two frozen ones.
I can confirm that they are now indeed skimping.
Right away I noticed that the fresh pizza box AND the frozen ones were light.
When I got home, I checked them all and sure enough, they're all thinner.

I got Lou’s on Tuesday in Naperville dine in with the family for lunch. The one on Jefferson. I ordered a medium and it seemed ok, maybe a bit light. I asked for it to be cooked more and the waiter said ok but it came out looking normal.
What I decided I don’t like about Lous is the overpowering garlic taste of the sauce. I would guess they are putting fresh pressed garlic juice in the sauce. It’s ok and I’ll eat it but prefer Pequods.
