i think moral of the story, ham sucks, especially pre-made, pre-cured, bullshit, that you're trying to smoke... after it's been cured.

Not entirely from scratch. I don't think I want to tackle the curing for the first time with family
and from what im reading, you wouldn't have time. they say to cure it for 12-14 days.
