Another word of advice with a lawn tractor... Find a snowblower attachment (it will run off the mowers' PTO when the mower isn't being used), vs. a plow.

You will find that any sizeable accumulation, and anything with some level of moisture in it (I.E. not the fluffy snow), you will quickly end up having more snow mass on the plow than you and the tractor weighs and you will come to a stand still. Even with chains and additional weight. I would fill my bagger attachement with cinder blocks, my fat ass on it and run chains and still have issues. It would result in me backing up, then going as fast as I could get it going in 6th gear and ramming the accumulated snow I got rolled up initially. And that was with a pretty decent sized Craftsman (Husqvarna) tractor (42" deck) and a 21.5HP engine.
