So apparently my aunt hit a stump with her lawnmower and it stopped working. She replaced the blade, spark plug and air filter. Any ideas? I would go take a look, but shes all the way in Algonquin.

Stopped working? It won't cut grass or it won't run?

If it's not running, could the cap & rotor (or whatever it is on a small engine) has jumped and now timing is off?

She says all belts are in tact. When she pulls the chord it sounds like it wants to start, but doesn't.

A google search says its likely the flywheel key. Hopefully it's that because it doesn't look like too bad of a fix

You will need a small flywheel puller to replace the key. And the hardware store will sell new keys in pack of three. Odds are you'll never need the other two and if you do, you won't remember where you put them.

Fixed it! Took me 4 different places to find the key but the flywheel came off pretty easily and when I put it back together it started right up!
