me no have JD 400 series parts

but, im curious. why does it need replace? its very rare that they go bad and cant be resealed to fix a leak.

They can be rebuilt as mine is leaking. I knew of the leak when I bought it as he knocked off $250 because of it. Unfortunately, the closest place to cut open, rebuild and reweld the cylinder is over an hour away. New cylinder is $360, smh.
Thanks for replying quickly.

Appreciate the offer, that is very nice of you. I am going to see if I can find a local place. Some of the places I already contacted had no interest.

Last week the neighbors asked if I wanted a John Deere JS40 their mother originally used, but has sat since she moved a few years ago....

then my Honda can go to my old man instead of whatever $50 mower hes been using for 10 years now.

Gawdd.... Many summers as a kid behind one of those LB's

Wait... Those came as push?? Lmao... We had like 3-4 of them. All self propelled

Yeah it’s self propelled, I actually didn’t know that when I bought it. Very typical Frank purchase. Buy it then do the research lol.

We have an OLD lawn boy up in Hayward. White and blue in color, side discharge. I’m bringing it home next time I’m there to fix it up.

I forgot this thread existed. Yaj Yak Yaj Yak saw some yellow tag HD goodness before I closed on the new house. So I bought it on will call. Fucker was $1,000 off. Toro MX5000 50" fab deck 24.5hp Kohler. It is a dream with the mulching deck. Already 6hrs on the machine and I think I need to adjust the steering arms a bit otherwise I do look forward to mowing

What's something like that worth? I have a 42" timecutter that's maybe 10 years old.

The damn mower I just got wont stay running unless I spray some starting fluid in the carb... Prime it a bunch and itll run for a second or two then die out.

Think Ill order a new carb and toss it on and see if that fixes it.

Put on a new air filter, changed oil, new spark plug, new drive belt, new mulching blade.... Hoping the carb will get it running so I can use it.

Probably can spray out the jets with carb cleaner

Just so you guys are aware, I own a professional lawn aerator, power rake and overseeder. If anyone would be interested in renting them I won’t take a security deposit from any of you guys.

I’d rent any of them for $50/day and am more than willing to teach you how to use them. About half of what you’d pay from a rental house depending on machine. I’ll make a legit thread tomorrow with some pictures of the machines.

My company also provides these services professionally if you’re not a DIY person!

Also here’s some more pictures of that Simplicity in the pics. I bought it late last fall, it’s been stored inside it’s whole life. I had it under a bedsheet at the GF’s farm all winter and just brought it home.

It’s a 1989 5212.5 12.5 HP Cast Iron Briggs engine, hydrostatic trans. Purchased from the original owner. I used it once to cut my backyard and it was flawless, washed it and stored it. It’ll probably cut grass once or twice a year lmao.
