theoretically yes you should especially at the temperature a car interior can see.

That said I would probably do it anyways just because it isn't horridly expensive and worse comes to worse you reprint it in another material later.

don't forget you can use supports and print it standing if your printer has more height than length or width.

PLA is great for practice and trial fits. Yes you would want to use abs for temperature stability. But because it out gases and smells it's a lot easier to use pla to do all your prototyping and then a final print with abs once you have all of your supports Etc figured out.

Cost-wise if it's not really big savings but just for prototyping the part and not having smelly ABS plastic for anything other than the final part is kind of nice

Doing a once over on bolts. Noticed an exhaust header bolt coming out.

It seemed wanted to strip even with a torque wrench. Tried chasing the threads and using a slightly longer bolt but I don't think it will hold.

Gonna slap in a timesert.

I also noticed my throttle cable appears to be be binding. I'll more than likely end up shortening the cable.

Tune day is May 10th.

So, before the throttle cable literally did a loop but it was a fairly soft radius. Apparently not soft enough as it was binding.

I'm starting to realize I probably could have gotten away with just removing the coiled shield, but here we are.

I hate being on dynos. I get too anxious and convinced some shit will go wrong.

Their shop air compressor kicked on during one of my runs. Thought the motor was knocking like crazy.

It drives fantastic though.

Alright so notes from the dyno were tps seems out of whack, and o2 was probably killed during the initial start up phase of the car.

On the dyno the o2 was basically reading backwards, and tps was only fucky on like the 0 to 5% throttle area.

New o2 sensor popped in with a new map uploaded to allow for typical fuel corrections, and as for the tps I checked voltages and grounds. Everything seemed right. My only guess is the plug seemed kind of janky. It had some play, so I added some ziptie finesse and it seems to be working as intended now and reading all throttle input. Just took her for a spin, and man I love this car.

I do need to slap on that other resonator though.

My 4 pot wilwoods come tomorrow. I think that will be this weekend's project. New calipers, lines, and rotors for the fronts.

I also ordered a brace that will help with booster flex, as the whole firewall can flex when you really push on the brakes.

Some other little shit on the roster is replacing the washer nozzles with actual spray nozzles instead of calvin and hobbs piss nozzles.

New brakes are on. Still need to bleed but got company in town, so hopefully tomorrow.




Got new washer nozzles installed too to and replaced some of the washer fluid tubing. The spray pattern is way better.

Then also slapped in this little brace to keep the brake master from flexing.

So, I only swapped the fronts and did ss lines up front too.

It physically feels so much nicer. And it definitely stops waaaay better. I never thought I'd crash but coming to a stop I always felt like I had to apply a lot of pressure. Not anymore.

Hoping to get a new resonator on this thing soon and hopefully quiet the hondaness.

My weld guy is busy for a few weeks, so I'll live with some rasp.

Been loving the car. It's so hard to not rev it out all the time and hit VTEC.

Haven't done car shows in a long time and started going again after I finished the car. Never been a show offy guy, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like popping the hood and catching people's attention.

A lot of people ask if it is s2k swapped. Which I understand the thought process to get there, but like the k series is the LS swap of the 4 banger world.

It just looks like a Miata on the outside. No indication of anything other than a big exhaust which means nothing on a car that is regularly riced to hell.

Thinking about swapping the motor mounts from poly to regular rubber. I've had cars with non compliant mounts before, but they also weren't 30 years old.

Don't shy away from revving it out ALL the time, unless you're low key embarrassed about the exhaust right now if so, I hear you on that. When I bought my s2k it had one of the loudest bullshit exhausts on it and man... I had to really convince myself to drive it whilst I was looking for a stocker to STFU S2K.

It's really only raspy in normal low load getting up to speed grandma driving.

When it's full tilt I get all the induction noises and not entirely sure what the exhaust sounds like lmao. It's quiet otherwise. I turn 4k at 80 on the highway and it's business as usual.

I have heard some loud s2k at autox. I don't blame you. They are ear piercing.

K's are impossible to make sound good N/A but you can get them to a reasonable "BAHHHH" and live with it. They make power all the time so they are just loud all the time. If you hear the intake over the exhaust then you're doing it well.
