My newest mid torque 1/2inch Milwaukee is like 600 ft lbs

I have the newer Dewalt DCF899 1/2" XR impact. It is 700 ft/lbs. Rips off lug nuts torqued to 150 ft/lbs. with no issues. Plus it is smaller than the older 1/2" impacts. Nice tool for sure. All the brands have very capable 1/2" drive impacts now. That and better batteries sure make them convenient to have.

That one looks good. And only $299. Not bad.

Is that their biggest one? I got mid torque simply due to dimensions

You can see the size of the 18v DW059, 20v DCF889, and the newer 20v DCF899. The DCF899 is more compact. But the main body has a slightly larger diameter and weighs a little more. The DCF899 has three speeds. Which is convenient when you don't want to over tighten something. It also has led light.

The DW059 doesn't break lug nuts at 100 ft/lbs. The other two break off lug nuts at 150 ft/lbs with no issue at all.

They are smaller. What part number are they? Those look like the ones that are 200 ft/lbs. Dewalt has some smaller bodies that are also less torque. The larger ones that are 600 ft/lbs are larger than the smaller one I have. They are also like twice the cost. Not knocking Milwaukee at all. They make great stuff. Just saying I don't think they are an "apples to apples" comparison.

Delivering 450 ft. lbs. Fastening torque and 600 ft. lbs. Nut-Busting torque, the M18 FUEL Mid-Torque Impact Wrench is more powerful while also being up to 2 in. shorter and up to 1.5 lbs. lighter than many competitive Impact Wrenches. Ya, that tool is about 2" shorter front to back than my short one. Dewalt markets the one I have as "Up to 700 ft-lbs of max torque and 1200 ft-lbs of max breakaway torque". I bet in a real world test they are closer in performance than the rating would have you believe. For my Shade Tree mechanic ass, the Dewalt saved me money and works well.
