🔧 BUILD JFish's 98 Camaro SS

General Information

Been thinking about doing this for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger. It's nothing special or as bad ass as most of you guys but trying to be part of the community and share. And as of now I don't have any other real plans for it, but I do have most of the pictures I saved from when I was doing stuff.
So the story begins...
I had gotten divorced and wanted a fun car again, I knew what I wanted and had been on the lookout, low and behold I found this gem on LS1Tech for sale in Michigan. with my budget I wanted something decent but didn't want to break the bank, pictures online looked super nice and as long as it was as nice as it was in the pictures it was a done deal. Had my buddy drive me up to Michigan with an envelope full of cash. And the car was way beyond what I ever anticipated getting for myself, and super low miles (31,600 at the time of sale), so I picked it up and drove it home.

Few pictures of the listing, and one when I stopped at McDonalds on the way back home, then finally in the garage.

Finally got around to taking off the pressure plate to inspect and make sure the clutch is actually in there lol. Obviously I could see the inner ring of it through the center but they assembled it all together and the bolts were pretty tight. But it would have to come apart anyway for install so might as well see what I paid for.

Clutch is in and been driving it around getting some break in miles on it. Pedal is a little heavier than it was, but has zero play in the pedal. Previously there was like an inch of slop at the top of the pedal so not sure if that was a poor bleeding job by me, age, or that the slave was already slowly on its way out. I have noticed that there is a knocking noise at times when coming from a stop mostly when turning. Might be the exhaust tapping on the floor/cross member. I don’t think it’s clutch chatter although I’ve read that some people experience that during the break in process, It seems fine otherwise. So I might have to get it up and crawl under there to see if there is any evidence. It’s a pretty tight fit with the headers, I had to trim the lip of the crossmember back to make space when I installed them but it’s still pretty tight. A couple pics this weekend driving it around , just over 100 miles on it now.

I wish I could say it was mine! Haha sorry I should have clarified. I'm only decent with photography.
I did recently get a drone but managed to get it stuck in my neighbor's tree within 90 seconds. Had to chuck several basketballs to get it down. I'll be practicing in empty fields from here on out

Pretty sweet! Did not realize that was your car. I follow urw on Instagram. They're pretty close to me. Maybe I'll check em out in the future. I know IND trusts them to work on their cars
Yeah, my cousin is close friends with the owner Ben, which is how I heard about the shop to begin with. I met Ben at a family event, and he stood up in my cousins wedding last summer. Went with a couple of friends last summer and Ben gave us a tour of the shop and some of the projects they had. They work on everything and have a dyno, etc. super clean and professional shop.
