Car will definitely be getting a slick. Just need to research which ones are best for my 17” wheels. How do you like that 2 step? I had one but sold it. I like how your car launched with it. Definitely looks like it makes it a touch easier. Do you use the no lift shift option on it?
Slick will help for sure. I've always liked the N2MB. Install is clean, and have never had issues with it once setup. It makes leaving very consistent, and under full power. I dont use the no lift shift, not a big fan of it.

Well, the mt82 bit the dust coming home last night. Seemed to shift perfectly with the few changes I made, but I nailed 3rd last night and heard a loud bang/crunch. Every other gear works but 3rd is now another neutral...lol!

Not sure what route I want to go yet. Gonna take a day or to and think things over.

Option #1: Calimer stage 3 mt82 with billet gears. About $4k and probably a couple/few months from time I pull trans to time I get built unit back. Effectively taking the car out for the season.
Option #2: Put another stock trans back into it and sell car. Already have a nice stock trans lined up. Search for C8 or GT500 at msrp.
Option #3: Auto swap! Lots of money and time.

Buy the used MT-82 and put it in the car. Take the broken trans and send it to Calimer for the upgrade. Swap transmissions when you get it back. Sell used trans.

If you can get good money for your car and can find a deal on a GT500 that is a good option. I think both of those will be hard to do right now. Especially a "deal" on a GT500.

With all the time and work thrown into that car you could just sell it? A GT500 is an amazing machine and I'd love one but your GT is sick AF....it's a hard decision because if a GT500 is possible, it would be hard to turn away.

If it were my car in that situation, I'd keep the GT with a new, solid trans in it and fuckin send it!

I'm honestly leaning option #1. Not wasting time and money throwing a stock unit back in to get me by. Probably going to put the car on stands in garage and remove trans to be sent off to Calimer. Wait the couple/few months and put back in.

With how much time I have to drive the car, it just doesn't make sense to buy another stock trans just to have to yank it out again. Plus with the downtime that'll give me time to send the clutch disks in to be converted to 26 spline for the stage 3. 01bluesnake 01bluesnake do you know how Spec is to deal with on converting discs?

When I blew up my the T56 in my 03 Cobra many moons ago, I had an RPM trans put in. That thing was a tank, Viper spec and everything...around $2500. I'd look them up.

No need to. Do the stage 3 but with stock 23 spline. A lot of guys are doing this now instead of 26 and having to change clutches out again.

Option 1. You can still drive it around all summer like white trash with no 3rd gear while you wait for the new trans.
No way. It's making some pretty uncomfortable noises even in the good gears. Probably more damage than just the gear teeth being shaved off. I don't trust it at all and just happy I made it home...

They don't work on MT82's that I know of. Unfortunately there really is only one guy in the world that builds these things to handle serious power, and that's Ben Calimer. You'd think there would be more than one mt82 specialist with how many are in circulation, but I haven't heard that there is. It does seem there is another company that makes mt82 rebuild kits, but I wouldn't even know where to take it to have a trans shop do the work. There is also no power rating or anything with this stage 3 kit. All they say is HD gears but what does that really mean? 2011-2017 Mustang 5.0 GT BOSS MT82 6 speed STAGE 3 REBUILD KIT – AMP DISTRIBUTING
No need to. Do the stage 3 but with stock 23 spline. A lot of guys are doing this now instead of 26 and having to change clutches out again.
That was going to be another question was if I even go that route. I don't think I've heard about people snapping the 23.
That sucks to hear Jeff! I guess I’ll look elsewhere for my blue stripes ?
Haha yea I was looking forward to see how that "same upper pulley" did this year!:ROFLMAO:

Update got the trans out. Called Calimer and they’re saying definitely go with the 26 spline so that’s what I’m going to do. We’ll see how much Spec wants to rebuild my clutch.

Once Calimer receives the trans it is a 4-6 week wait for them to build so the car will be down for a good two months. Sucks, but is what it is.
