I had a work conference in Italy so my wife and I made added a week to tour around. Venice, Naples, Positano, a drive down the Amalfi coast, ferry to Capri, Pompei, Rome. Here are some pic highlights:

Food was very good, some places were standouts, like Pierre Luigi in Rome and Grabisa in Positano.
My Aunt and Uncle lived there for either 3yrs or 6yrs while he was in the Navy. I really regret not going as it would have been a pretty cheap trip for us.
Nice pictures! It's on my to do list to visit Italy. I worked for Fiat for a few years after college, but never got a chance to go visit the headquarters. Anytime a chance came up, I would usually end up having to travel elsewhere to fix a customer issue or grad school got in the way.
Yeah my wife is a big planner, so we had a lot scheduled but it was good. There was always more to see, but like when I drove from Positano to Amalfi we did it in a compact way and the small cities has the same feel so it was fine. Would have been nice to see Florence but we were away for 10 days.

i'm a bit torn between making a nice base in thailand, having a good weekly fitness/diet routine, and reasonably productive/predictable work environment vs. going to europe and bopping around a bit. would like to spend some time in portugal and greece, and try going down along eastern europe on the other side of the adriatic sea as i think it would be pretty and interesting yet much cheaper than going down the coast of italy. this would probably be favorable working hours wise but be a bit more hectic of an ever chaning suboptimal work environment, plus my gym/muay thai/diet routine would pretty much all go out the window.

It is very nice you can work at a digital nomad. I think the other side of the sea would be easier on the $, plus you can make trips to other places. But having been to Phuket I remember that the $ goes very very far as compared to other parts of the world.

Majority of the pizza we had was good, heck even the Roman style pizza I had at the airport was good. All of it was wood fired. Mostly more like Napolitano and NY style.
The car scene where we traveled around was pretty small, I saw a Ferrari about every day and occasional Maserati. I'm told Milan has a lot of really nice cars, and I'm guessing the roads there are pretty nice. Naples I think would be a bad place to have a really nice car, people drive aggressive there and the roads were about the same as Chicago haha. I was surprised not to see a single American sporty car.
