They have a long standing feud and this does crop up once in awhile but it's always a bit tense because they do hate each other AND they are both nuclear armed.

India claims it has shot down Pakistani warplane after Pakistan downed two of theirs, paraded captured pilot and warned 'we will escalate if we have to' as fears grow of conflict between nuclear-armed rivals

Not our problem.
If either side needs to buy weapons, take their dough, and keep out of their way!!!

The US should probably care because its two nuke powers that hate each other....and, correct me if I'm wrong, but the US likes both countries...at least India. I know Trump has states hes "pro India".

If "Superpower by 2020" gets nuked repeatedly, it would probably have an overall positive effect on the world.

Waiting for General Flyn to come in and explain how this is part of Trumps plan as well.

Although it's interesting because both Pakistan and India have a mix of Western equipment and Soviet/Russian/Chinese equipment.

Pakistan has some F-16's, but also a bunch of French Dassaults and Chinese fighters, as well as Gulfstreams and C-130's

The Indian air force has a bunch of Mig's of various vintage, Su-30's (analogous to the F-15), some Dassault's, C-130's, Gulfstream's, Boeing's, among others

India has long been a close ally to Russia, but that relationship, in recent years has been stressed by Russia's relationships with Pakistan and China and India's relationship with the US.

Get our people out of the area, if those 2 want to nuke each other, oh well.

AGAIN, russia is a joke, they can pick on tiny little countries like most bully's do, they have no chance against a real military.

Why in the hell would we fight anyone for either of those 2??
How much oil, uranium, platinum do they have???

Keep our nose out of every one's business until they start lobbing missiles our way.

Don't underestimate Russia. Their military is not what it once was, but it is hardly a joke. They are getting back and forth support from China on development and technology. Their fighters are extremely capable, they have a very formidable tank in the T-14 Amata which rivals the Abrams in pretty much every measurable way. They don't yet, have a mass produced 5th generation fighter, but China has a bunch, and the Su-57 is on the horizon and should rival ANY Western fighter.

The threat of hypersonic weapons is VERY real, and Russia knows that the US does not have a viable defense against it. Russia has been pouring money and development into their hypersonic weapon technology and development, while the US has been honing their ballistic missile defense with mixed results. The US, arguably, does not have a reliable defense against a true ICBM (which isn't even hypersonic)...

Russia Halts Years of Work On Ballistic Missile To Pay For Hypersonic Weapons - The Drive

Putin Announces Early 'New Years Gift' Of Successful Hypersonic Glide Vehicle Test (Updated) - The Drive

As we at The War Zone have noted in the past, substituting the UR-100N UTTKh for the RS-26 as the carrier for the Avangard vehicle makes good sense as a way to get the high-tech weapon into service faster. Hypersonic boost-glide vehicles eliminate a significant number of vulnerabilities traditionally associated with ICBMs, which typically have readily detectable signatures and follow predictable flight paths.

Existing U.S. space-based early warning systems would be able to spot the plume of the missile launch, but the United States has no effective means of tracking Avangard, which is reportedly capable of rapid and frequent course changes along a flatter trajectory, during its mid-course flight. The U.S. military's existing ballistic missile defense shield has no way of engaging the actual Avangard vehicle, either. Of course, at present, those defensive systems are in no way capable of undermining Russia’s overall nuclear deterrent capabilities, either.

I thought were were exposed with Rocky getting old, but with Adonis Creed beating Viktor Drago like he did...I have no doubt we could win over the Russian people into peace.

Russia's navy is old and outdated and they are a generation behind the US in stealth aircraft.

In addition, Russia doesn't have the financial resources to develop out technology in large numbers. The SU-57 is reportedly only going to be built in small numbers for example. Russia can't even figure out gas turbines for Naval applications and has to source them through Ukraine.

Putin likes to talk a big game, but he's stupid to get in another arms race/cold war with the US.

He's never going to match the US in numbers, but all he has to do is keep his deterrence relevant. The US and Russia will never face off in actual war, as I've said many many times. Proxy wars, such as Syria, will continue, and Russia and the US can each grandstand and show off their new weapons.

The Su-57 will be built in small numbers, but hey so was the F-22.

And their one carrier... The Kuznetstov (I think that's the name)... Needs a tugboat to follow it around because it constantly breaks down. :D

I read an article recently that Lockheed is trying to sell India an upgraded version of the F-16 dubbed the F-21. So they're looking more and more to the west for their weaponry.
