I need to decide on cam shit and then tuning. So many people say to just do a black bear performance tune. Free “tune ups” via email so I can add mods and get things retuned if needed. Still haven’t found anybody around here that’ll bother with a messily cammed Tahoe and gets decent reviews.

Also need to figure out either a lunchbox locker or a limited slip out back.

It sure seems that way. There’s other companies that do similar things but they’re mostly tune only tunes or exhaust/intake tunes. Won’t do camshaft stuff. Transmission tuning is what really interests me the most. It feels better than the Sierra but still seems lazy at times.

Back when I was looking for a canned tuner for my silverado I bought a diablo tuner. There's a guy who does datalog tuning based off those that had good reviews. My canned 87 tune woke the truck up for sure. I basically bought it to shut off afm, the tune was a bonus. I have no personal experience with diablew but he was quite active on the truck forums when I was researching. https://www.diablewtune.com

He won’t do any sort of camshaft or forced induction tuning. His prices are great though if you’re just looking for a tune to get some torque management out and get the trans to stop doing silly things.

Still need to run the camera wiring to the tail gate. Contemplating mounting it under the spoiler for a higher up view and to clear the bike rack. We’ll see.

Just wanted to update on the steering wheel controls. Easy stuff. Basically you swap the wiring harness, cut a hole (I easily used a razor blade) and then install again. Here are some pics.

I just stuck a small Allen key in the side holes while pulling on the air bag a bit to push these clips back.

Removed the horn bit (and the horn fuse!) and swapped the harness (new harness already installed)

Shaping the hole. A sharp razor blade was pretty easy to control.

All done.

Also started on my heated seat install. Didn’t have anything good to use for a plate so used some carbon I laid up years ago. I’ll probably order up some thicker abs plastic. Bought that usb plug too so I don’t have to have one dangling for my cord for CarPlay.

Heated seats you say???

Your steering wheel is in MUCH MUCH better shape than mine. I think eventually I’ll just end up swapping the whole wheel. If mine had the grip yours does I would definitely do what you did.

Thought about remote start at all? (Aftermarket) Now we are in that season here I’m strongly considering it. Thankfully and unfortunately since the ol lady won’t be driving for any appreciable amount of time I can use her Equinox with remote start..
