If you got plates in 2020, you might want to double check them

The Illinois Secretary of State sent me the wrong plates.

They send the plates with the registration card and sticker all wrapped together. The number on my sticker doesn't match the plate. Sticker ends in 992, plate is 993. Officer ran my plate and it came back to a another car. He knew right away since this has been common this year. The registration and sticker are correct, the plate is not.

I better have to stand in a 4 hour line to fix this!

There are government union employees probably making $40 an hour who's job is to line up the sticker to the plates in a spreadsheet so they can get mailed out.....

Stickers for renewals should be fine. This appears to be a new plate/new sticker issue.

I just had three to do and stickers were fine on renewals.

You know dam well the state will not refund the money for that either.
