So I was going through my huge list of saved vehicles on Facebook marketplace. I saved something 27 weeks ago and still didn’t say sold. It was overpriced like most things but I messaged the dude anyways and he said he was flexible on price.
Well it was in Colorado so of course I asked
Bob Hope to help me out. Can’t thank him enough for all the effort he put in to look at it and send me all the pics and info he could.
To understand why I wanted this truck pretty bad you need to know that back when I was 17 I got my first truck. I lost that truck because I was T-Boned by someone who ran a red light.
It was originally a straight 6, manual, dual gas tank truck. It was the first vehicle I ever did a motor swap in, first clutch, first cam swap, and lots of other firsts.
This is it at high school auto class while swapping motor.
So I occasionally search for the same truck but it’s so rare with the manual, step side, and dual tanks. Also rust is always bad of course and 4x4.
So I ran across this one and after Joel looked at it I low balled the dude (based on his asking price) and we came to a price that’s probably pretty fair for what it is. Then
Bob Hope brought it home, I had it shipped to me, and it arrived today.
It needs lots of stuff of course. The steering wheel is dumb, tires are old, signal switch has some issues, the seat is worn the fuck out, and it had some stupid speakers behind the seat the made it moved all the way forward. The good news is most of the normal shit works and it runs pretty good.
It does have annoying glass pack exhaust and the fuel gauge doesn’t work right either. But I’m back in a squarebody and it’s one like I used to have. So I’m a happy dude, now to figure out what direction to take it.
