I’m working on getting pricing together for more standard items, starting with humidifiers.

Pricing: $625

What does this include?
-AprilAire model 500M or 600M bypass style humidifier (depending on home size)
-Cut supply plenum to accept humidifier base.
-Route sheet metal duct from humidifier to the furnace return air drop.
-Seal all humidifier duct and fittings for air leaks.
-Route 1/4” copper water feed from nearby water line to humidifier solenoid using supplied saddle valve. (Extra charge beyond 20’ of copper)
-Plumb drain from humidifier to existing condensate piping, modifying as necessary.
-Install and wire humidistat on return duct, or, integrate with current thermostat/controls if supported.
-Wire controls to operate humidifier on heat call only.
-Commission humidifier and verify proper operation.
-Instruct customer on operation, disabling unit for summer and basic maintenance required.

EXTRAS:

Modify plumbing and install 1/4 turn angle stop valve. Why? Saddle valves tend to leak over time and may not offer positive shutoff of water feed when desired.

I have a 500M and it’s been great. Gets us right in the sweet spot (32-36%) which is impressive for here. I wish I could of fit the 600

You can run a powered humidifier, steam humidifier, use hot water to supply it or get an automatic controller that will kick the system fan on to run humidifier with or without heat. Those can all boost the capacity of how much water you can pump in the air

If even the smallest humidifier doesn’t supply enough humidity or you have a massive house, chances are house is just too leaky for it to keep up anyways.

Can you have one thats too large for the house? I have an AprilAire 700 thats useless. We turn it on 1 and all the windows get condensation bad.
Yes/no.
What do you have controlling it?

If it’s on a humidistat that’s working, it shouldn’t be running unless it needs to add humidity.

curious if its a 700M or 700A
M= manual adjustment
A= Automatic, which is adjusted for automatic weather..which "might be the problem" (outdoor sensor)..which sucks ass in my opinion
M as I adjust it. There is no outdoor sensor

That’s an automatic control Shawn1112 Shawn1112

You can test the outdoor air sensor and check it against this table if you have a multimeter.

It can also disregard the outdoor air sensor and just run manually to your desired set point on the front knob. Just flip the dip switch.
