Its always fun to add up all the money you've thrown away on a car thats going to end up in a dump some day. An apporoximation is good enough, unless you really want to add up every reciept you've saved...

APPEARANCE: $500

Black headlights with clear corners-$200
Tint: $250
17" Eagle 077s-FREEEEEE
Misc. bulbs, badge overlays- $50

PERFORMANCE:$7100
SLP Catback-$300
S&S Headers & downpipe-$800
Innovate Wideband O2-$300
Dynotune Nitrous Setup-$700
3500 Head swap- $500
CAI-$100
Ported manifolds-$300
Underdrive pullies-$300
Billet TB-$250
DHP Powertuner-$150
Current engine build- $2700
Drag radials & wheels-$300
Gaskets and etc.- $300
Misc. small mods-$100

GRAND TOTAL: $7600... and counting.

I bought this car 4 years ago for $13k w/ 32k miles on it. Ive spent more than half of what I payed for the car on mods. Its going to break $10k in mods before I get rid of it. Pathetic :tear:

Uuuugh...

my old SHO had maybe $500 in assorted mods in it (Chip, Cobra MAF, Intake, etc)

My Civic has:
D16Y8 head - Free/ but the rebuild/mill/etc was $260
Custom UDP pulley - 100
AEM Tru-Time adj. cam gear- 50
Accel HEI Super Coil - 60
plugs/wires - 40
chipped/converted ECU - 125
header+cat - 60
Cat-back exhaust - 190
D16Y8 Intake Manifold - 40
1995 EX Close Ratio Tranny - 30+60 in gas so 90.

So about a grand and I still need to pickup a clutch and install the tranmission, but then all that will be left is visual and tires/wheels.

yep... Thats why Im ever going to heavily mod my cars untill im old, got my own place, and are financially stable. Your going to look back and be like "why the fuck did I spend so much money on that car" and regret it.

I've had alot of fun modifying my cars, so I don't really regret it. I regret buying a new car more than anything else automotive, but in the long-run life goes on, cars are a poor investment no matter what. "Its just money you can always make more"

I dont regret spending that much money, rather how I spent it. I could be going a LOT faster in this car for the same amount of money.

i bet that goes for ALOT of people. i know i could have spent my money wiser with my GTP. eh on the plus side if i ever buy another w-body i'll know what to do differently and where to start with mods...

Ive only recently (the last two years) gotten into the whole modding scene. For the first two years I had my car, all it had was a CAI and catback. Last winter I put on headers, and it all went downhill from there.

The thing with spending money more wisely on modding, is that its hard to drop one big lump of cash on something. If I wanted to go out and buy a SC kit, its going to cost me 4 grand. I dont have that just sitting in my wallet, and I definitely dont want to put that much on the CC either.
