:) Well I have put lot of hard drag runs on my totally stock IRS … the only time had problem with it was the rear end cover at Byron last year it Broke the cover with girdle … caused the problem was the IRS back cover bushing it was very weakened so I change the cover & front bushing with polyurethane...the cover bushing was replaced with solid aluminum I have machined from T6061 solid round aluminum stock & it work awesome...but at same time there is way over 180 runs on this IRS plus over 24000 miles on it..
I do have all my ticket runs for my Owen documentation .. may be I am just lucky will see ..

I put well over 125 passes on my IRS before I broke a shaft. Broke on the next pass after I had previously made a run with VIOLENT wheel hop at the start.

After grenading the differential. (DSS Level 5's in at the time), it was just more practical to go solid (considering how much I drag race).

:ditto: I had almost exactly 125 passes on the IRS before I snapped a halfshaft. It got pulled out a few months later. :D

I have to have well over 100+ and I have all my time slips to prove it. Last night I was thinking about getting them together to get an exact estimate. I mean at all the MSCs except one I missed had at least 12 passes, that is 60 right there, Kari has about another 15, and on the ET Streets alone I had 25... so that put's me at 100 without even blinking on close to 26k, with only one ride on a flatbed :p. And that doesn't even count the street light challenges!:p

Again, when you take that into consideration and I just broke one this weekend, all those haters out there can kiss my :booty: R&R and back on my way:burnout:

I do know the problem every buddy has with IRS
At 1st I had hop problems…I did corrected with tires & tire psi & the way I was drive the car at track or on street
I am in business to exhaust all the issue... so far there no problem with it... I am OK now …. But at same time I do custom rear ends & other things so I am well prepared for it... not in issue at this time

2.8 & COLD AIR, MAGNAFLOW WITH CAT & DIAPLO TUNE 315 NITTO DRAG RADIALS TIMES 11.46 ET & 121.60 MPH & AVERAGE 60 FT 1.61 TO 1.66 ...

I didn't want to break Wiked03's heart... but your time is actually the one I have been gunning for. In good air, that is what I should be running. I have seen you launch and shift, you drive the car like I do.

PS Carl you are still one of my idols, NOW POWER SHIFT, and learn from Nile and I ;)

The IRS certainly can work VERY WELL. Tons of guys proving that. I needed my car for daily transportation and just needed something more durable. If I was guaranteed the IRS would live at the track each weekend, I'd still have it in my car. Rode much nicer and would launch hard with the right tire. I just couldn't afford alot of down time with the car (even though swapping half-shafts is a breeze).

LOL, no worries, whose times do you think I have been gunning for for over a year now?

My driving is very average, and seems to be getting worse lately. I will be stepping up my game here shortly.

So tell us how you really feel :lmao: yeah yeah I know its just a matter of time before I end up bored on the street and end up at the track:headbang:

I honestly think people don't realize how much we frequent the track, it's not like this was my first time and I broke a half shaft, I was due. Last year I had a lot going on with work, the house, wedding, and all, that I didn't have much time for myself. This year I am back in full stride.

I just want to recruit more into the CSVTDRRRT :p

I have upwards of 90 passes on my irs, but I give it the SissyLaunch(tm) on street tires. No big hairy burnouts, just a few dry hops to clean the tread. I'd have bigger balls to launch harder if I had a tow vehicle...

example (14 meg wmv, right click, save as...):

Nice video John.

I now have a total of 13 drag strip launches on my car. Maybe a hand full on the street.:cool2:
