id be shocked if that's a "higher trim" boat....

That’s the X series. The V series is what I’m looking at.

I've been working on the wife about getting boat. How big of a motor should I be looking at to be able to pull a tube or skier with a 24 or 25 foot pontoon?

id aim for at least a 115 if the boats actual length is 24 overall... which a lot of manufacturers will call a 22.

If you get a 225 Verado you can upgrade to 340 hp via tune from whipple for under a grand

are "those" verado's still getting made?

or are you just saying in used land?

100k for the single 300 or about 200k with twin 300's...:coolio:

I won't feel bad about getting gapped by one in my 18' Lund 43.5 mph on GPS with a 2 stroke mid 90's 115 mercury cause I didn't have to take out a mortgage to own it...:lmao: At least I could feel like a winner out of the hole if I raced one or in rough condition's like on the Big Pond where the DeepV shines!

big tritoon pooontoons on rough water run really well. keyword big.

and no one is spending 100k on one with a 300hp... that boats getting bought for 75-90k at absolute most.
Does skiing take the most power versus tubing etc?

tubing can really depend on type of tube also. some tubes drag a significant amount more than others.

That’s the X series. The V series is what I’m looking at.

i dont know what that means

i would just reallllly research the brand and how it compares to the other brands out there.

I don’t believe supercharged Verado’s are still in production but there’s still quite a few left I saw some new toons that were ordered with 250’s this year, I think the new 4.6 took the place of a bunch of them

I was trying to build one on pooontoon builder websites with one since i found out your neat whipple verado tidbit

Used market is small from what you are looking for. My dad looked seriously for over a year for a "newer" tritoon with a "big" motor. He wanted 150+, tritoon, and less than 10 years old. I think he wanted to spend under $30K. Ended up buying new and spending way over $30K but really because he couldn't find anything on the used market.

That's my fear. It seems people buy new pontoon boats, use them for a while then they disappear.

well they just hold onto them because the difference between a 5 year old pontoon and a new one isn't enough for a person to warrant "upgrading"

It seems like pontoon under 10 years old just don't get sold.

i dont know what that means

i would just reallllly research the brand and how it compares to the other brands out there.

It's just their trim levels. V, X, Elite, Diamond Elite.

Goto the boat show and look at the brands. We were deciding on Bennington, Manitou, and South Bay. Mostly concerned with performance out of a base model boat. The Manitou they wouldn't put a Yamaha on it for the money he wanted to spend and the South Bay had zero room in front of the side rails in front or back to even stand on the 22ft model. Ended up with a Bennington. But I made my dad waddle around the entire show and look at ALL the brands. Brands like Avalon, Sweet Water, Lund, just looked built like garbage on the base models at least. AND they were not much cheaper. The guys at Bald Knob wanted 20K more than the Bennington for a comparable Premiere also.

Regency 254 LE3 Sport (201:cool: 2018 Reviews,performance,compare,price,warranty, specs,Reports,Specifications Layout, video | BoatTEST.com

Length Overall 27' 5''

Beam 8' 6"

Dry Weight 6,560 lbs.

Tested Weight 7,127 lbs.

During our tests, we measured a top speed of 48.7 mph and a best cruise of 13.8 mph.

With the Mercury 350 Verado turning a 15x15 3-bladed Enertia propeller, we reached our top speed of 48.7 mph at 6800 rpm. Best cruise came in at 2500 rpm and 13.8 mph. At that speed, the 3.3 gph fuel burn translated into a range of 196 miles while still holding back a 10% reserve of the boat’s 52-gallon (196 L) total fuel capacity.

6500 pounds empty

48mph with 350HP

fuck that thing is a turd.

i mean, not really, it's a fucking big ass heavy boat, as ive said before... weight has so much to do with pontoon, well boat, performance completely.

my formula has a tiny bit less horsepower and weighs a tiny bit less as well, and it might do 48mph in the right conditions on GPS
