how are the oldsmmobile aurora motors?

are they easy to work on, do they have similar problems to the northstar motors, one just caught my eye and ive never really looked into them at all it looks alright at first glance, anybody have any personal experence with them

One thing I know about them is the air pump for emissions and one way valves for that system are prone to going out. Also expensive IIRC and mostly dealer only for parts that I have seen

my brother had one with the 3.5 that just kept on running with 200+k on it. thing just would not die.

My old man had a first gen with the 4.0 and it was a nice enough ride he never had any real problems with it but yeah its just another northstar basically so the typical problems apply.

I loved my 4.0. They blow headgaskets though and repairing them is expensive. I also had some transmission problems with james's girlfriend the 4T80e.

There is an autobahn package that came in some of the early ones that allows you to do 140 mph.
