I disagree. Not the best episode but it’s plot points will move the story and it’s actions in the future.

I think the majority was supposed to be at night, so it was shot with that weird filter so it wouldn’t look like the battle of winterfel.

You saw everything but it was kind of a weird filter. Maybe it was your stream?

I’ll have to check my file. I usually watch on the new Apple TV4K through plex and it uses Dolby vision as well.

I found this ep to be quite dark as well, and I normally run my brightness probably slightly higher than I need to.

Also, I understand why this episode had to happen, but man it was still a slog. But it's all in the interest of pushing the show forward, which I cant fault. They have got a LOT of ground to cover.

the compression on the stream was HORRIBLE. I watched it last night and I had to pause it a few times to see if it needed to buffer.

That being said, I remember the final few episodes of GoT looking like shit too with the compression they used on the streaming video.

It's not even the compression (which is also questionable), it's the conscious decision to use a lightbulb wrapped in a diaper to illuminate scenes.
