To bump this thread...
What would you all recommend for a 65 inch?

It’s going into a basement theater room. It’ll be used for streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney+, ESPN, and playing some of our old Blu-ray’s from my 9+ year old Samsung Blu-ray player...

A wider viewing angle (nothing crazy) would be good. No need for 8k. I do probably want to make sure it has Dolby Vision. I do prefer Samsung since our only tv for the past 10 years has been a 46” led samsung that’s given us no issues ever. But if Samsung doesn’t support DV, then I can do other brands no problem.

Budget is up to $1,500.

Anything I’m missing or not considering?

My $.02, buy the cheapest thing you find that meets your requirements. You can look at tv’s side by side in the store and notice the difference. Once it’s in your house you’re not going to notice the difference when you’re dealing with glare, kids running around, sitting on your couch with a beer and popcorn.

With that budget, you MIGHT be able to find last years LG OLED on Ebay or something...otherwise, I think the 65" is still going for almost 2k new. As far as I know, Samsung's QLED doesnt support DV but does support HDR10.

You can look at Hisense or TCL. Hisense gets a ton of great reviews. I truned Jeffs FRC Jeffs FRC on to his.

Vizio's high end tvs should fall within the budget as well.

Sony's non OLED tvs should support DV too. Their high end (again, non OLEDs) are legit.

Angus Angus Just saw this:

I can't get the amazon link to show... so just add "www" to the prefix:

I have the 55" Q60R and really like it. Purchased it in November 2019. This one listed (65" Q70T) is a few models above mine.
