When running MLS gaskets both surfaces of the head and the deck of the block need to have more RA(roughness average) than what you would typically need for a traditional gasket which favors a smoother surface to help seal them up when you are trying make HP.

With a 2.3 pulley, he'll crack a ringland before he has to worry about head gaskets. I'm JUST SAYING.

3800's are weird AF. A fresh 32k mile (super charged block the strong one) can make 500whp and spin a bearing, BUT a 240k mile same motor can make 600whp and rev to the moon for 10yrs and be perfectly fine. Shit just doesn't make sense. The only thing that just completely ruins the platform is the transmission. There's just nothing you can do to "build" them for longevity. So easy to make tons of power though, stupid ass trans is just garbage.

OK I found the cometic gaskets, they are 4 layers, still have the rivets in them, and still look to be in decent shape. I didn't have my calipers handy so I didn't measure them, but I'm guessing they are the .052s. I can't find my old PM from when I got them.

Shoot me an offer for them.

In my search I also located my set of titanium retainers that I'd also sell. Lighten up the valvetrain!
