Had some whiskey made

Not food, hope it's ok to post this here.

Some of you know that I farm. We have a small family farm that I will take over in the not so distant future.


I saved a couple buckets of corn from certain fields at harvest. Contacted flyover whiskey, which is in a small town about 15 minutes from me. They sent a couple prepaid packages, which I filled with corn, then dropped them off at the post office.



A month later, the FedEx guy drops off two large boxes with 6 bottles in each.








I wasn't expecting it to be too great, as I would consider this more of a novelty item, but it's actually pretty good. Smooth finish with a nice smoky taste.

Hell yeah, that’s really cool. I never knew a service like this existed! Something nice to share with family and friends when they come over. Great conversation piece.

How much did they charge for all that?

$600. So $50 a bottle.

Totally reasonable IMO. I’d pay that in a heartbeat for a 1 off batch even if it wasn’t great

Yeah it's not bad at all. I typically just drink the cheapest Canadian whiskey I can find, and this is quite a bit better than that.

I think we are going to have another batch made from the field where we are going to build our house. Something neat to stick on the shelf for when the house is completed.

Put a bottle in the wall! It’d be cool for the future if you ever remodel or someone else eventually does.
