I second the Enfield guess but as a question what are the letters below the crown? They look kind of like "BRI" but the pic is washed out. Typicaly a brit gun would say "BNP."

I believe its GRI. From what I can find below. Apparently Enfield had factories all over.

GRI Indian Manufactured Rifle approx. 1907-1943 and 1944-1951 depending on the crown style above
