🔧 BUILD GTPpower's 05 F-350 6.0 PSD

General Information

I need a way to help me keep track of everything I'm doing to this thing.

I bought it from a dealer on 02/01/17. It needed an oil cooler and possibly a headgasket. I farm and own a construction business, so reliability is a main concern. I took it to a diesel shop a few weeks later to get the following done.

-Headstuds
-4" Turboback Exhaust
-Edge CTS2 Pro with Gearhead Custom tuning
-Edge EGT Probe
-Mishimoto Coolant Filter
-Valvecover Gaskets
-Rear Main Seal
-Updated Oil Cooler
-Rear Cover Gasket
-Updated Turbo Feed Line
-Rocker Box Gasket
-Injector O-ring kit
-Heater Tube O-ring
-Motorcraft Crank Sensor
-Passanger and Driver Glow Plug Harnesses
-Hpop Gasket Kit
-Updated Turbo Oil Drain
-Standpipe & Dummy Plug Kit
-Blue Spring Kit
-6.4 Pushrods
-6.4 Lifters
-Cam position sensor
-Racor Oil and Fuel Filters
-5w-40 Synthetic Oil
-CAT Extended Life Coolant

So I've been too busy to work on this thing, but finally had a few spare hours to get to it today. Today was a high of about 26° so it was a little chilly in my driveway, but could have been worse.

Sent the ficm to ficmfixer earlier this month. Cost $198 to fix it and it has a lifetime warranty now.

Put in two new batteries.

I got some kind of spray for the connections that is supposed to keep the corrosion down since it seems like these always build it up.

Ficm voltage looks good now.

When you're working on a cold motor plug in a block heater for 3 hours it'll give you enough heat it's amazing it actually gets the engine hot

Measure your system pressure again. Let's make sure she's not putting combustion in there

So, I think it's something goofy going on with the oil cooler kit I have on it. It only leaks when it's not driven for a day and the weather gets really cold. It seems like the coolant fittings contract enough to leak coolant. I'm kind of wondering if maybe I switched it to the spring type hose clamps instead of the screw type, if that would help.

Yup. That's what nobody comprehends... I absolutely LOVE the factory spring clamps. On EVERYTHING. they are there for a reason.

A few years ago, I added a fuel pressure sensor. Edge wanted almost $200 for theirs and I wasn't going to pay that. Bought 2 on Amazon for $20. Well, you get what you pay for, and the second sensor finally went bad.

So, I decided to just buy it.

Very easy to install and I have fuel pressure again.

Also, it got pretty cold overnight....

So, I am going to replace all the hoses and switch to spring clamps. Should I look for some on McMaster-carr? They are easy to find on Amazon, but I want to make sure I get something decent.
