TLDR
Gridlife ran HPDE, Time Trials, and GLTC W2W racing about 2 weeks ago.

Jimmy Houghton ran a 2:08 in his k-swapped turbo Integra
2012 Civic Si of Will Au-Yeung Ran a 2:11 in practice before crashing

Those are both faster than any production based car run at Road America.

Videos Below.

Jimmy Houghton ran a 2:08 in his k-swapped turbo Integra

Tom O'Gorman Racing in the GLTC in a C4 corvette.
GLTC is a HP to Weight class with everything from K swapped Miatas, Civics, Minivans, C4 corvettes etc.

Viper ACR going 2:17 at RA

Corvette going 2:19

Forgot the photo of Will's car that crashed. Walked away no problem.

They break down the car pretty well. Super random guess is 100-200k in parts and development throughout the years. and at least 20k-40k to run the whole time attack season in gas, tires, transmissions, pads, breaking stuff.

Throughout this article we will get a bit more insight into the workings of the K-Tuned Type R. This includes a lot of changes for 2018: Spage Sport splitter and front wings, Haltech Elite Standalone, RacePak Smartwire, Garrett GTX 3582 Gen II turbocharger, Unit 2 Fabrication Inc Elite Oil Pan, Graf dog box, JBR Sleeved Block, Drag Cartel’s Drop-In Cams, and 4 Piston Racings cylinder head.

Crazy, the fastest NASCAR Nationwide guys were in the 2:12-2:13 range. Granted they don't have a ton of downforce, tiny brakes, and weigh nearly 2 tons....

But you also have a guy, running around in a 20 year old F1 car, knocking off 1:55's...but to think the Integra is "only" 13 seconds off a semi-modern F1 car is crazy

I really need to buy a fast street car and take it to road america...looks like such a blast
Most fun cars I've ever sat as a passenger at RA were a Viper SRT-10 and C6Z. Fastest too. Viper had a full aero kit, C6Z was bone stock except for pads/fluid.

Both drivers were getting down to the low 2:30's high 2:20's.

Sub 2:20's is screaming.

I only got the ST to the mid/high 2:5x's.

A lot of that is probably due to the driver. Dario Franchitti set a qualifying record almost 20 years ago of 1:40 in an Indy Car. A F1 car from that era is certainly faster. At COTA, a current F1 car is 10 plus seconds faster than a current Indy Car.

I believe Franchitti's record was in a CART car, which has/had significantly more downforce and power over their IRL counterparts of the day. The current Indycars are still 4-5 seconds off that record lap time, even with tire technology being light years ahead of what it was in 2000. That being said, a modern F1 car, would absolutely demolish that lap record. Hell, put a real F1 driver in that 1997 Benetton that shows up to the Hawk every year with a proper suspension and gearing setup, and modern tires, and there's no reason it shouldn't be down around that record lap. Those V10 era cars haul ass.
