It's not like you have any social events to engage in this weekend... get to it.

Christ. I have been obsessed w/ the Tsukuba 1 hour endurance race w/ the mazda roadster touring car from the human comedy missions this weekend. It is NOT an easy race. The AI is just unreal in it. And through all my reading of everone elses horror stories w/ this race, it seems there's something off with it, because the harder difficulty you play on, the slower lap times the AI actually have. So I actually did this race on hard.

This isn't a straight forward race. There is weather to deal with, so picking the right time to pit for the right tires is critical. The AI is not smart on what tires they pick when they pit in this race, so they end up having to pit more to get back on the right tire. Fuel and tire management are CRUCIAL to winning this. Not outright power. tsukuba is not a power track. You can't just go flat out and burn fuel and tires because you just cant put enough distance between you and everyone else to pit several times and stay ahead. Somehow the fuckin pit time on this track is LONGER than the actual lap times, if you take fuel and tires both. I don't know HOW, but it takes 20 fucking seconds just to drive down the pitlane and GET to your pit box before work even begins. I don't understand that. But I digress.

First time, I WOULD have had 1st, but the final 5 laps or so 2nd and 3rd were chasing me down w/ unbelievable quickness ( i was still playing on normal difficulty for this one), and by the last lap they were RIGHT behind me, and I was trying to just hold on and keep them there, with barely any tires or fuel left, but I ended up going wide on the FINAL FUCKING TURN of the final lap and they cruised past me and I got 3rd.

2nd try, changed the setup of my car, upped the power (bad mistake) and went again, and tried playing on hard. This time my strategy was just not right, and the increased power meant I was burning thru way more fuel than I should have been, even reducing the fuel maps for most of the race. I finished 2nd this time, but I was a friggin lap down on the leader by the end. Again the AI drive ungodly in this race.

3rd try, LOWERED the power, and finally found a setup that was quick, but way better on fuel, even leaving it on full power for most of the race (was posting better lap times w/ this setup than i was w/ the one that had like 50HP more than this), and finally got my pit strategy perfect. Managed to go easy enough on my fuel and tires (actually was able to use racing mediums on this setup instead of racing hards on my previous setups) and was able to hang it out there a long time AND make gains on the AI on track pace before I needed to pit. And I only had to pit 3 times in this race when everyone else pitted at least 4 or more. THATS the difference you need. This time managed to lap everyone up to 2nd or 3rd place, and everyone below 8th place was like 3 laps down on me.

Felt so good to finally get this :ROFLMAO: Now I can sleep tonight. Damn race has been chewing me up all weekend.

Big update should be out! New cars and Eiger is back!

Also, they changed a bunch of suspension and tire physics, so guess what?? All the leaderboards have been wiped AGAIN!! And I haven't checked yet, but I'm guessing if you had cars built to certain PP levels, they're probably all fuxed now.

1. Physics Simulation Model
 - The behavioral models for the suspensions and the steering have been adjusted:
・The calculation of suspension geometry has been improved, resulting in more natural cornering physics and acceleration/deceleration stability levels.
・The calculation of steering geometry has been improved, resulting in more accurate simulation of steering forces.
・Damper attenuation behavior was adjusted, resulting in more natural physics on road bumps and curbs.

 - The tire physics simulation model has been enhanced by:
・Turning stability on low speed corners and curbing has been improved.
・Surface resistance (rolling resistance) has been optimized.
・Heat and wear behavior were adjusted on racing tires.
・Grip reduction on the racing line in wet conditions, and hydroplaning physics were adjusted.

 - Default settings have been improved.
・Initial suspension and aerodynamics settings have been changed on all race cars and certain road cars.

 - Performance Points (PP) for all featured cars have been updated.

 - The wireless controller steering algorithm was updated.
・The steering algorithm when using the analogue sticks and the directional pad were enhanced, resulting in better handling.

 - Controller behavior for steering wheels have been updated.
・The force feedback algorithm has been adjusted, allowing devices to use their full torque range.
・The steering geometry calculation have improved, resulting in better force feedback feeling.

 - The effects of the following driving assists have been improved.
  ・The Traction Control (TCS) assist intervention has been optimized;
・Corner braking control for ABS (anti-lock brakes) has been optimized.

2. Controllers
 - We addressed an issue in which force feedback vibration on the Logitech® G923 was too sensitive.
 - The strength of the vibration effect on the Logitech® PRO Racing Wheel has been adjusted.
- The performance stability for all Fanatec® steering controllers has improved.
 - The LEDs of the four sticks on the Fanatec® GT DD Extreme will now light up in the color of the corresponding MFD.
 - We also adjusted the Tuning Menu Auto Setup parameters for the Fanatec® GT DD Pro/Extreme, and Podium.

Selecting "Auto Setup" (AS or A SET) from the Tuning Menu on the wheel will load the optimal parameters for playing Gran Turismo. A firmware update may be required in order to enable the Auto Setup function on your device. In Podium mode, Auto Setup is intended for use in Low Torque mode. The use of High Torque mode will require manual adjustments.

3. World Circuits
 - Time settings have been adjusted for all Circuit Experience events, and all demonstration replays have been updated. Also, all rankings boards have been reset.

4. License Center
 - Time settings have been adjusted for all License events, and all demonstration replays have been updated. Also, all rankings boards have been reset.

And the last one.......

5. Missions
 - All rankings boards have been reset.
 - The difficulty level has been adjusted for the following event:
  ・Tsukuba Circuit One Hour

Sure. NOW THEY FUCKING DO IT. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Full list here. Its quite a substantial update

Haven't really had much time to kill in this game lately, but I'm curious to see how things feel w/ the new physics. Will dive back in this weekend.
