Over all it's pretty simple usually. You position the engine so that half the lifters are on the base circle, if they're hydraulic I take em till the valve is tight+ 1/2 turn extra otherwise you're going to need feeler gauges and the lash specs for what you're running. After you lash that set (find a book, it will tell you which ones to lash with the engine in what position) then you rotate it 360 degrees and do the other half of them. Not a huge deal, pain in the ass if you're like me and have done it a total of 4 times.
