Breaking now, George Bush Sr. just passed away at 94.

Wasn't watching Jimmy Fallon, but it was on, he went to a commercial and when they came back it was an NBC News break in and they've been talking since.

I had the TV on for background noise as well and when the special report popped up my initial thought was instantly “oh fuck what did trump do now” lol

Long read but VERY informative

Idaho Observer: Deathbed confessions, photos support claims that George H. Scherf(f), Jr., was the 41st U.S. president
You serious Clark...

I actually thought it was some skit at first. I had to go quickly check the news feeds online.

I will say that it was an amazing tribute to one of the better presidents we’ve ever had in the office. Enjoyed having the day off to watch the coverage and remember what decency, honor, and a pause in politics looked like for a quick second. I was a little young to remember how impressive H.W’s resume was but took some time and did some reading today. Incredible the accomplishments he had for his 94 years on this planet. Sounds like he was a hell of a father too.

Politics/right/left/whatever aside, I hope someday we can vote someone in like that again. And being biased probably, still hope that somehow it’ll be a requirement one day to serve in order to hold the position; to understand the gravity and true depth in the decisions that are made in that office.

Really moving and touching day, well planned and thought out. RIP to 41.
